CNN reports a grisly scene near border hours after Jim Acosta took a selfie video boasting of tranquility
January 12, 2019

Mexican authorities discovered five abandoned vehicles and at least 20 bodies at a rural location 56 miles west of McAllen, Texas, Wednesday, CNN reported.

News of the discovery came just hours after CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta reported on the area’s apparent safety and tranquility.

“We’re not seeing any kind of imminent danger. There are no migrants trying to rush toward this fence here in the McAllen, Texas, area,” Acosta said in a video posted to his Twitter account Thursday. “No sign of the national emergency that [President Donald Trump] has been talking about. As a matter of fact, it’s pretty tranquil down here.”

Acosta posted a follow-up video a couple of hours later to point out that McAllen’s border wall only covered a short distance, and he said that “a lot of the residents we talked to say this is a very safe community and they don’t see migrants coming into their community causing a lot of crime and mayhem.”

Mexican federal police found four burnt-out trucks, a sedan and the bodies, most of them charred, in a rural community near the town of Miguel Aleman, authorities told CNN. The grisly scene appeared to be the result of a battle between rival gangs, Tamaulipas Attorney General Irving Barrios Mojica told Carmen Aristegui, who works for CNN and hosts a radio show in Mexico.

CNN reported on the incident Thursday evening.

How anyone could take anything that he spews as t***hful is beyond all logic and reasoning.

It's too bad that Acosta wasn't in a vehicle some 56 miles west of McAllen along with the others.

Good example of our government in action. Chose a side, fight and argue to the end. Never thinking of working together to find a beneficial solution to our problems or concerns. We should stop electing attorneys as they have been brain washed to take on the other side and beat down the opposition. It's all they know. People of other occupations have learned to work together, listen and compromise to solve problems. The enemies of the U.S.A. love our government's in house fighting as they know we will create our own doom. Stop v****g for attorneys or make your plans to live your life without a U.S.A.

Acosta is not a reporter. He just wants to write editorials based on his opinions only. As a result I don't pay him any attention. He is not a major problem. He is no more than a small annoyance.

Perm, hope your well. I have toured the southern border..extensively, it's a dangerous place anywhere at anytime. The Cartels are the problem, not American people who want to contain our southern border sovereignty. You actually believe that 56 miles from where the liar was reporting from is a long distance.?

When in combat do you prefer overk**l or allow the enemy a chance?

It seems that the l*****ts are trying to mask i*****l a***n violence in America behind legal citizens committing crimes, as acceptable numbers.

Like its ok for i*****l a***ns because we have home grown thugs too.

The border Patrol officials agree with the wall.

Even Obama's border Patrol chief agrees with the wall.

How are politicians against the wall more convincing than border Patrol agents?

We already know that the proposed wall is not a continuous wall.

You can’t be that ignorant or maybe you can. Once the govt. is open all leverage is over. The House i***ts led by Pelosi will never agree to real border security. What old people aren’t getting a check? We can’t say this enough the very Democrats throwing a fit about a wall were all for it not long ago.

Acosta is a beneficial "small annoyance"
He continues to demonstrate his stupidity, as well as CNN who pays him.

Byron,

good morning, i have tried to be clear that opposing a wall is not being against border security.

I see no way that event 56 miles away from Acosta could be detected by him or anyone..

Is that small town even on the Border??? Anyone look it up on any map?

Combat.... go for overk**l every time...

But I do not see the border problem as combat, or an invasion..

If we look at any demographic.. (group of defined people) you will find a group the thugs and trouble makers in there someplace.. it is a given.. and none of it is acceptable.

Border patrol has made statements endorsing the wall.. they have also made statements saying beefing
up the existing tools would be money better spent..

Also, I think for a management level agent to speak out against the boss..(trump) they would have some
misgivings.. so that makes me shift how I feel about the accuracy of the contradicting statements.
