Are we just pawns in a game?

It is a game where every one one wants to be on the winning side on every issue but but won't change sides on any issue.

It's a team sport. you only win if you team wins.

In playing the game as I only win if my team wins every body loses but those that control the game.

We have sold our souls to those that control the game.

This is a game run by the few with only a few real winners.

The rest of us are just pawns in the game.

Thanks Floyd, I've been saying this for quite some time. It continues to fall on deaf ears. We are being played as fools by both political parties and the ruling elite. No one seems to care.

As long as the government is passing out money, there won't be any change. Even conservatives are content to accept the status quo, as long as there's Medicare, Social Security and a prescription drug plan.

That's because they are afraid of the t***h. I don't blame them, frankly. It was a shock to me when I realized that v****g was merely a way to convince me that I still had a say in my Government. I found out the t***h when I got a firm promise, sealed with a handshake ( which used to mean something ) from a candidate I v**ed for and who won, and then who immediately did just the opposite of his promise. It took me 3 months to finally ask him why. His answer? " you just don't understand politics". I said, " I understand a lie and you lied to me. No real man shakes on a promise, knowing even then that it was a lie. You were a friend once, I'll help you look for your balls if you want.". Two very well dressed men helped me find my way outside, where I was told that I'd be arrested if I was seen there again.

I had to wait for two years to get rid of the SOB, only to discover that his replacement was a carbon copy. That's when I began to take a much closer look at what was occurring. I was and am appalled at how far we've allowed our Government - to govern itself. There are NO controls over those folk. The Constitution is just a piece of paper kept under glass at the Library of Congress. They don't know what it says and don't care. They just do wh**ever gets them the most money and the most power - which means even more money. And now? the guardians of the Constitution have decided that it's irrelevant, and allowed unlimited money to role through the Congress, so our v**es mean even less.

From now on, I'm v****g for whoever raised the LEAST amount of money. They won't win, I know that, but at least my v**e will be wasted somewhere useful. V****g for anyone else just wastes my v**e, so I'll waste it where I please.

If everyone would respond that way, the money would be - wasted. The rich people and corporations would still have enormous sway in DC, but the more " moneyless" people we elect would either, change the corporate Congress, or swallow the new people, making them just as bad. We have to try something different.

It won't work. Those of us smart enough to see through the big money political ads, are the minority. The big money is spent to sway the v**es of the low, and no, information dumbass v**ers, which is increasingly the majority.

So sad, but so very true. It's just too bad there isn't a " wake your dumb ass up " app, for smart phones. Come to think of it, many peoples phones are smarter than they are. Huh.

I don't know how old you are but I am 77.

The changes we would like to see won't make a big change in our personal life's.

I find what you have to say & the way you say it refreshing.

It is only because of our advanced age that we have the time to express our views.

Bottom line the changes need not be that much. It is just that we are on a path that will only be making things worse.

We will never be able to stop those forces, but if we can slow them down & put them in reverse things could be much better.

That's why I don't tell the young people around me what I think they should do. I try to ask them questions that will encourage them to do some research, and come to their own conclusions. I live in a town with a Christian university, it is also strictly conservative republican and they educate their students in that vein of thought. I find that repulsive. I agree that politics and related subjects SHOULD be required courses, but I reject the notion that the board of directors can pick for the student what views they will or will not be exposed to. That's a plan for an oligarchy, in my opinion.

I see that the older adults must encourage younger generations to ask questions. LOTS of questions and make sure they understand that it will be THEIR country when we're gone. WWI is almost forgotten now, because those that were their are gone. WWII is fast following and the lessons learned by those involved - are now subject to interpretation or misinterpretation. Such errors are perpetuated, because they're not challenged by younger folk. Current errors are evolving in the same way. Not enough people are asking questions and finding answers on their own.

Well I think that you have the right message & are on the right course to deliver a fitting message. I am working on it.

Yeah, they poop where they eat. Our higher evolution has lead us to this place, where we eat the poop handed to us by our government.
