What's in a few words...

I play high stakes poker and golf online, and have done so for about six years. I am quite competent, meaning I have a margin of profit at the end of the year, but I am hardly great. I am talking about clearing maybe a few k; others that are truly good make a few 100k. One night I made the comment to someone who had gotten four great hold cards in a row that "stood up" (won), 'By the grace of God.' He lambasted me for trying to shove my beliefs down his throat and would not let go of it no matter how i tried to assuage the situation.

The same thing happens on opp all the time: if it is a certain religious belief expressed, the un-religious find it particularly quarrelsome it was voiced in public, or what they seem to consider a secular quarter.

I do not find JWs who have come to my door as shoving anything down my throat. I say no thank you and they go to the next door; nothing in my throat. It is, to me, utterly absurd to think that anyone can force anything down my throat just by expressing their beliefs or opinions. Those who claim such "assaults" to their throats (or conscience) must be pretty weak characters.

a lot is in a few words, a LOT, but it all depends on perception, for some it could mean thirty pages, others less than what was even said.

You are a thinker, ergo dangerous to whomever you associate with or deem to align. By thinking, it is a naturally tenuous connection, no matter how much you may care for the people or cause, and by gut most others understand this sad point. You will never be trusted. A few facts to thrill your heart.

There are those conscious individuals that make life choices based on this ugly understanding, forgoing their individuality for wh**ever cause or person or group. Being nowhere, in a sort of limbo, is no fun, and no one likes you or can get close. A thinker has nowhere to rest their head. Understand that.

I have found that a few people, and I mean a few, feel guilty about what was said. It reminds them of something they feel very guilty about, so they really go all out to make your life miserable. They are trying to get even with you for bringing it to their attention again. These people will never forgive you simply because from here on out, you will remind them simply by your presence.
