Donald Trump’s childish shutdown over border wall funding appears to have backfired miserably, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll.
The survey found that just 25 percent of the country believes it was a good idea to shut down the federal government over the president’s fantasy to build a barrier on the southern border.

Overall, a combined total of 54 percent of the country blames Trump (47 percent) and congressional Republicans (7 percent) for the shutdown. Just 33 percent think Democratic lawmakers are responsible.

To make matters worse for the president, only 35 percent of those surveyed believe that taxpayer dollars should be included in the budget to fund his border wall.
None of this should be a surprise to the president of the United States given that he repeatedly promised that Mexico – not the American taxpayer – would be on the hook for the construction of his wall on the southern border.
Trump throws another tantrum
It’s no surprise that after the polling data was released, Trump took to Twitter to whine about his woes.
In a post, the manchild-in-chief referred to himself in the third person and said, “This is only about the Dems not letting Donald Trump & the Republicans have a win.”----MORE-----

The legislature shut down the government, by not forwarding any spending bill to the President!

Until a spending bill reaches the presidents desk, he is constitutionally powerless.

President Trump said he would shut down the government, and he may yet do so, when he get's the chance to.

Until a spending bill is passed, legislative gridlock owns the game; lock, stock and barrel.

I know that you liberal loonies h**e our Constitution, but you really should try reading it someday!

So what you are saying is that the republican legislature shut down the government and when Trump proudly took credit it was just another one of his lies?

President Trump did not take credit for congress failing to pass a spending bill.

Claiming that he did is your own LIE.
