Sometimes I ask myself why we were so hopeful to elect a democratic candidate for the presidency. We should have elected a republican instead and sat to watch how he would manage to clean the mess his predecessor had created. At this point this country suffers of a difficult problem to solve, and it is not a monetary one but an educational deficit. We have lost perspective because History is an incomplete science if it lacks the humanistic side. For some time now, our education has kept track of name, place and date of the actions but has ignored the reasons and the consequences of those actions. That is why 1+1 does not equal 2 but wh**ever digit represents the interest that is hidden behind the equation. Humanities and time will clearly explain where and when the errors were made. For now I feel sorry for the Founding Fathers and the mess we have done of their magnificent dream. And keep in mind they were all very young. But with ideals born of an education based on Humanities.
Deficits mean future tax increases, pure and simple. Deficit spending should be viewed as a tax on future generations, and politicians who create deficits should be exposed as tax hikers.
