Bahmer, I assure you that the honor was mine. I know that many have served, many have not come home. The cemeteries have more than they should, I believe that each that fought were brave and heroes. Many of our vets are wounded, disabled, and should be honored; but Memorial Day was set aside to honor the fallen. Not just those that fell on battlegrounds, but those that came home and died from complications of war. My thoughts, May God always bless the USA~!!!
Thank you my friend!!
I do not know anyone in my immediate family that died on the battlefield but my grandfather was in world war one and a bugle boy. He also was in China when the revolution took place bringing home war trinkets that came flying out of the French embassy that had any pictures of the emperor. Yellow d**gon cloissene. And other emporor related items. My father also worked as an instrument panelist on B-17 in Wendover leading to the big and little boy bombs which kept us from fighting WWll much longer. I am so proud of their service. I miss them tremendously. I am so grateful for them and so many like them who fought so we can be free. Thanks Ginnyt for allowing us to honor them here.
