Unemployment statistics are not based on numbers of people who file for unemployment insurance. Oooops, you based your whole ridiculous rant on that assumption!! Unemployment data are produced by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics based on a household survey (Current Population Survey). Each and every month, a sample of households are contacted to determine the employment status of each member of the household. Those who are not working are asked additional questions -- are you retired, going to school, looking for work, how long have you been looking for work, etc. A great deal of information is collected about the work status of each household member. One question that is NEVER asked is whether the household members are collecting unemployment insurance. THAT blows your entire theory about "manipulated job numbers". Before we leave the subject of economics, let's look at your rant about "big boys like Sears, Macy's, K-mart and JC Penny's are shutting down". Yes they are, but not because the economy is bad. They are shutting down because people buy stuff on-line. Amazon and other on-line retail outlets are growing like gang-busters, and it is k*****g brick-and-mortar stores. If you knew anything about economics, you would know this and wouldn't have made your ignorant statement. Also, coal, coal power plants, and steel mills are reopening. Pay attention.
