Thanks. I notice many Democrats are now accusing Republicans of power grabs before a New Democrat governor is sworn in. Seems to be mostly about common sense changes to their states v****g laws.

In our little small county the Democratic county clerk lost the e******n to a Republican. The Democrat was busy making copies of all the registered v**ers, many have been dead for several years. One of the poll workers brought it to the attention of the poll supervisor.the supervisor told her don't worry about it she would take care of it.

The poll worker was asked by another poll worker he thought her Uncle was dead. The worker was told he just v**ed. The Supervisor told her "don't worry about it, I'll take care of it.

It is everywhere. Even in our little back water county.

V**er ID is pretty much the norm in most states. The heat actually comes about because some states try to make it harder to get ID.

Then there are states such as Florida where a person registers to v**e, they are properly on the e******n roll, they appear, show ID, and their signature doesn't match...that negates standing there with matching picture ID and an unqualified person can say the signature doesn't match, so they have to do a provisional b****t and the games begin on that? States that are kicking in provisional b****ts do it to reject the provisionals wherever possible, it's what ties up the e******n counts. Florida is constantly rejecting provisional b****ts for one reason or another, they've been doing it for decades. Not only that Florida created a complicated system which is fine, but wants to impose unreasonable deadlines that make defaults likely. Florida is dealing with a ludicrous amount of provisional b****ts that take hand counting because of mickey mouse hurdles. The fact of the matter is when Florida makes it easier to v**e more dems will v**e.

The practice of caging serves no purpose but to affect selected target demographics. Sending out hundreds of thousands of post cards that have to be returned, but doing it in selected zip codes targets groups along partisan lines. If it gets done it needs to be done with every v**er in the state, not certain ones.

Meanwhile in North Carolina these are not vague allegations that have no proof, these people did it so stupidly they left a trail a blind man could follow. it's the bench mark that needs to be addressed so as to send the message and structure laws against that thing.

We are seeing a few states that make people jump through hoops to v**e, they jump through the hoops and then they still get screwed around with lines that can take hours to get through, and long lines become longer lines next e******n when polling places are reduced, machine numbers are decreased, and v****g days and hours are reduced. E******n day on a Tuesday, why would that be? Why not a Saturday so it doesn't affect workers? Any district that had lines longer than a couple of hours at a max needs to do any options that relieve those lines, more days not less, more hours, more machines. Georgia was reported to have 2000 unused machines in storage, and cities with lines that were way too long.

In light of the messes in North Carolina, Arizona, Montana, Ohio, North Dakota, Georgia, California, New Jersey, Utah, Florida, and Alaska.... do you think we need some changes to how v**es are cast, v**er identification, and equipment? Do you think that stricter laws on absentee b****ts/mail in b****ts need to be put in place in light of issues surrounding many states? Do you think that dead people should be purged from systems? Do you think v****g should be extended beyond one day? And finally, do you think that only those who are v****g should be able to enter and linger around the v****g site.

I personally think:

V**er ID is an excellent step forward and I think that absentee v****g needs to be reigned in.... perhaps a requirement that the absentee v**er provide evidence that they will be out of country (this would include military) or a physician's statement that an individual is housebound (this would include hospitalization or retirement facilities) and can not v**e in person. And these two reasons should be the only ones acceptable for absentee v****g. Other than that, the v**er should present themselves in person along with their identification at the polls.

In light of this, I think that v****g should be expanded beyond one day... perhaps a week or even two. This would allow everyone a chance to v**e in person... unless certified out of country or housebound.

To prevent v**er intimidation, the area in proximity to the v****g polls should be for those waiting to cast their v**e or exiting the facility after v****g and not be a place for demonstrators or those encouraging/discouraging v**e(s) for any political party. And it would eliminate exit poll takers and news people from influencing v**ers.

Busing of v**ers need a hard look.... neither party should be allowed to harvest v**es. Public t***sportation should be provided free of charge to anyone traveling to the polling office and back to their original embarkation after they have cast their v**es. No mass t***sit sponsored in behalf of a candidate, church groups, and so forth regardless of party.

Plain unsealed boxes should be used to store office supplies and not v**er boxes.

B****ts should be exclusively in English which would require that a single national language be adopted for the USA. And all b****ts need to be handicap accessible, meaning b****t boxes or machines be equipped with braille.

No v**es should be accepted or counted after the polls close. This would eliminate the "found" v**es lying about on tables or back-room storage.

A consistency in v****g machines across the nation that has a paper trail.

This is only a first blush... I am sure I missed some key recommendations, so feel free to banter this around.

That is a very good starting point and could be refined after the first run if needed.

I have one suggestion. Limit absentee b****ts to Americans living out of the country at e******n times (military bases, ships, embassies, American corporations, etc). Then, appoint the head honcho of the base, the ship and the embassy to be in charge of v****g for all Americans at that location. The number of b****ts needed are sent to this person far enough in advance for all such v****g to be held on one specific day two weeks prior to the official e******n day. The honcho in charge sets up a specific v****g space there on Anerican soil (base, ship, embassy), man the space with officer supervisors to keep everything legit. American corporation employees living there must go the the embassy on that day to v**e. At the end of the v****g day, the head honcho is responsible for boxing up the completed b****ts by state in sealed boxes and t***sporting them to each state's secretary of state by diplomatic pouch, by plane under guard. And that takes care of all Americans living out of the country at e******n time. As for, those of us at home, my state allows early v****g in p**********l years for ten business days, 7 am to 7 pm, prior to e******n day. Now, that is plenty of time for any American who WANTS to v**e to do do, regardless of ANY special arrangements needed. As for retirement homes, etc, on any specific day prior to e******n, why cannot the local e******n boards go to those locations and hold v****g there since each location involves a large number of people. The caveat here would be only mentally healthy should be allowed to v**e. Anyone in this country, based on my own state, that says it is too difficult to get to the polls to v**e is just plain lying and making excuses.

Excellent... I had not thought about making it a holiday. Some companies already make the time spent v****g a paid leave status.... so, if the person takes time off for v****g, they still get paid (providing they v**ed and did not use the time to go fishing). But, I like your idea.

Frankly, I see no need for giving employees time off work to v**e. Doesn't every state, like mine, have early v****g? So, no one needs to wait until e******n day and then whine about the long lines. I think with the early v****g days, we have made it easy enough for everyone and nothing further needs to be done. I do wonder about the machine v****g because technology/mechanics are so easily messed with. Maybe a return to paper b****ts signed by the v**er is least open to fraud? I do believe each v****g place should be constantly patrolled by a person from each political party to prevent fraud committed by poll workers.

The Socialist Democrats have that under control. Evsryone in nursing homes v**e the Democrat ticket even if they want to v**e Republican.

That was the point. It’s too easy to v**e and more opportunities for fraud. Cut back on early v****g and make E******n Day a Holiday.

I think we have enough laws, we should just enforce them and the slighest infraction should result in prison time!

Excellent ideas, which just goes to show that when such decision are to be made, the people smart enough to make them aren't the ones we elect to do so.
