The Thing That Defines Sleazebag Partisanship And Those Who Support It Better Than Anything Going On...
Governor's races and Dems taking over the state's capital with a governor, it is what it is, Dems get to do what governors do...govern. The governor is like the president of the state, and has very much the same powers at a state level, including pardons.
So we are seeing in multiple red controlled states who have had the horror of losing their governorship to a democrat, a rush to strip the normal powers that have been associated with it.
North Carolina stripped (or tried to as it was challenged in court) the responsibility of appointing over 1500 key positions down to 300. In addition to this, the responsibility of being in control of the e******n board was taken away as well, the responsibilities turned over to a republican board or committee.
This is such a no brainer it's r****ded to even have to debate it, it's too frigging simple...the duties and responsibilities that have been in play for one party are exactly the same for the other side. People elected the opposition's person to the position because they obviously wanted a change.

Wisconsin has done the same thing this week.

It's got ALEC and GOP think tank roots, one state tries it and half a dozen others try it too, the moves get rejected by state courts (even GOP judges) and they get appealed and run up to the supreme court, which is where the real constitutional breakdown may happen as it already has.
The right applauds c***ting and violating the norms and rules of democracy, I have never heard one right winger say it was wrong for McConnell to deny Obama a supreme court nomination.

The GOP is deathly afraid of "turn about is fair play"...................and they have a damn good reason for that fear. Karma is a b***h.
