Trump is waving off the idea that he should maintain the p**********l tradition of visiting U.S. troops inside a war zone.

The gesture is seen as a sign of respect and a way for the president to remind U.S. troops that Americans are thinking of them in places like Afghanistan and Iraq, where an estimated 20,000 U.S. troops are still stationed.

“I will do that at some point, but I don’t think it’s overly necessary,” Trump said on Tuesday, when pressed during a Q&A with the Associated Press. “I’ve been very busy with everything that’s taking place here.”

Trump also repeated the lie that he recently approved the first military raise in 11 years. In t***h, members of the U.S. military are guaranteed a small pay raise each year by law.

President George W. Bush often visited war zones. And less three months into his presidency, Obama visited troops in Iraq. And he made surprise visits to troops in Afghanistan twice in 2010. In total, Obama ventured into combat zones five times during his time in office.

Trump though, is too “busy.”

Trump famously doesn’t work very hard or very often, and on some days there’s nothing listed on his official schedule.

When not live-tweeting Fox News during his “executive time,” Trump has been relentlessly golfing, as if that were his full-time job.

He’s also attended 70 campaign events this year.

So they idea that he’s been too “busy” to venture into war zones to show his appreciation for the troops makes no sense.

Maybe he’s just afraid of combat zones.

Note that Trump, who has bragged about being a three-sport athlete in high school, suddenly developed bone spurs when he became eligible for the draft during the Vietnam War. In total, he received five deferments and avoided serving in the military. Nearly 60,000 Americans were k**led in the Vietnam War.

Trump told the AP he’d “gladly” visit the troops — at some point. But Trump lies about everything, so don’t hold your breath.

It seems that when the oreo did it it was ok in your play book so what is different when Trump does it and by the way when Trump visits the troops I know you will admit when your wrong and re track everything you just said. Right?
"Trump lies about everything" but obama can murder and commit genocide and that's all well and good, obama can k**l Americans with drone attacks and that's ok the men's bath house whore abuse his power and sell our uranium for profit along with his whole administration and that's just swell. It's real cool how obama to this day lies about the murder of four Americans and imprison an innocent man.

Pull your head out and see how stupid you are. Just how many innocent people has Trump k**led? How many Americans did he tap their phones and read their mail? Oh that's right he said no one and would never lie right in your face.

A bad joke. You are going to need one big crow bar and be able to pry the hell out of it. Then just maybe you can come up with a single day obama didn't lie right to your face. As much as you liked obama the way he lies to your face what is so different about Trump? Oh that's right Trump hasn't even committed one genocide where obama has three under his belt. You know there has never been a Republican that has murdered like obama. Hell, Ted Bundy on steroids didn't murder like obama.

Did ya know a man called my grandfather a liar and my grandfather shot him right in his face. He must have been a democrat as his thick skull saved him leaving a hole in his lower lip. It did cure him of calling anybody a liar

What's with you, the made-up stories from left wing publications and hypocrisy?

I am reminded of a visit Obama once made to a base in Afghanistan, where the troops stationed there were assembled at parade for his inspection, saluting as he exited his helicopter... And he walked right by them without a second glance, like they were just dirt, entered a tent to speak briefly with some senior officers, then exited without, once again, a single glance at the assembled troops.

Then there's a book I read by USAF Col. Buzz Patterson, who carried the "Football" (briefcase containing nuclear launch codes) for then President William Bubba Clinton and was therefore inside the White House and near POTUS all the time.

Patterson mentioned at one point in his book that Bill and Hillary, who had an inborn hatred of the military, forbade Armed Forces personnel working in the White House to wear uniforms.

President Trump, meanwhile, has done more for both veterans and active duty military than both Clinton and Obama in their combined 16 years, and he hasn't even been in office for 2 years.

If left wing politicans were as tenacious about actually doing their jobs as they are at being "symbolic," they might manage to accomplish one tenth, in a decade, of what Trump gets done in a month.

What I absolutely don't understand is the hard-headedness of libs. As a former neverTrumper who couldn't v**e for Hillary because even then, the known Hillary was worse than the unknown Trump, I held my nose and v**ed for him.

Being a rational person, I have little disagreement with Trump's results. Economy is way better, America is becoming more respected worldwide, law enforcement is respected again, we're getting better trade deals with other countries, border security is being enforced again, i*****l a***ns aren't being welcomed (invited?) into the country, etc. etc. What's not to like? I don't get it.

Well, at least Obama wasn't too busy to even get in the Hellocopter! Trump actually said he was too busy making phone calls and such! Trump goes nowhere without his phone but he can't use it on the way to meet the troops! What a fuking laugh...

Nothing but Trump apologists. So this is what conservatives have been reduced to--making up excuses for a man who's bone spurs kept him from serving in the military. I didn't serve but I at least faced the draft and took a number like everyone else. Mine wasn't called so no man died in my place. But Donald--5 times he asked someone else to die for him and you people are making excuses for him. I thought you guys loved the military? I guess political expediency is more important than what you stand for, isn't it!

I don't get it with you anti-Trump libs. You nit pick over every excruciating detail of the guy's long past life. You dwell endlessly on ancient history but are blinded to his undeniable record of achievement since being elected. In less than 2 short years, he's achieved more meaningful changes than most president have achieved in 8 years. And that requires him fighting all the way. The economy is red hot, America is respected again throughout the world, hoards of illiterate i*****l a***ns aren't being allowed into this country, the High Court is being put on the right track again, etc., etc.

Big deal that he didn't want to get inducted into the military and sent to Vietnam 50 or so years ago. Lots of praiseworthy leaders today didn't want to go to Vietnam.

I was a never_Trumper. Until Cruz dropped out. When the time came to v**e I held my nose and v**ed Trump because I already knew enough about Hillary to not v**e for her. Since then, daily developments have bolstered my view that I did the right thing.

For the life of me I can't understand how right-thinking people can be so against Trump despite all the wonderful things he's done since taking office. The answer is that his detractors aren't "right-thinking".
