The point of this topic is that that the Me-too movement could have such a huge effect on the civility of this country, if they did not pick sides.
So far all I see from ME-TOO is the fact that they are opportunistic, picking only battles that put money in their pockets
Things will never change if people don't push for change together.
Bashing our president is sadly, not the answer.

I think the at #me-too movement is busily working on improving civility in relations regarding powerful men and women they erroneously view as concubines instead of employees in the workplace! And they have their hands full.

Tell me, would part of your new civility include a proscription for the president hyping up crowd approval at public rallies for a public official body-slamming a reporter!?!

Wanna go over the unnecessarily rude and disparaging p**********l remarks to other reporters in the ensuing rest of that conference, or is this enough?

(Video is available free and easy on Google.)

I, personally, don't see his remarks as unnecessarily rude at all. He's dealing with people who are hostile towards him, and he should kiss their asses? He's a fighter, and I respect that.
I don't, and never have liked the man, but I find it refreshing to not have another smegma encrusted maloderous vagina sitting behind the Resolute Desk.

Ad hominem attack. Non contributory to content under discussion.

We were at the point where your contention was proven by my response to be inaccurate and wrong. Instead of acknowledging that, you decided to become inordinately rude and attack me.

And somehow your point in this superfluous and incorrect attack on my character is that civility and decorum must somehow increase through mutual interaction?!?

You sound mad. And not just in the angry sense of that word!

Civility is not new. It is being torn apart by Anti-Americans.

Gross!💅😬

I won't tell Ms B you said those naughty words, cuz it's your day to bring sammiches, and hers are the best.....

The president is the one in charge who sets the tone. Then complains that his own s**t stinks!?! I call bulls**t and point to the actual source.

Y'all squeal like little girls and cover your tearfully welling eyes, demanding sympathy, before kicking a guy who's already down in the kidney!?!

Sad.

I think she would be impressed with my eloquent wordification. Normally, I would have said crusty, oozing, reeking.....well, you know.
I hope you like pulled pork sammiches. I have a butt going on the smoker shortly. Mrs. B. is responsible for the seasoning, so I hope it's good.

And, I'm not demanding sympathy for anything. I understand Mr. Trump's animosity towards the media, and feel like it's mostly justified. I wouldn't necessarily handle it in the exact same way that he does, but I'm not mad at how he does it. He should fight back.
Don't you fight back when under attack? Or do you rely on lollipops, and unicorn hugs to smooth things over?

Agreed Archie. For the previous 8 years under the halfricans regime we experienced an old fundamental t***sformation of our country by him with typical worn out DNC ideology, platitudes, hyperbole and socialist democrat idioms. He trotted all over the world telling 3rd world despots just how bad America was/is, and now we have a no-nonsense, straight talking NYC street fighter pushing back against the inside belt way establishment swamp, and the snowflake socialist democrats are going apoplectic. How sweet it is!

Pulled pork is much better than crow, which is the just desserts of those who bluster about civility while uncivilly attacking another whose demonstrated argument defeats their own!

But I bet Ms. B can make crow taste decent if she puts her mind to it.

Do ya think civility begins with a full belly? Perhaps Ms. B could send a hunnerd or so of them pulled pork sammiches for the reporters and the WH staff for lunch before one of those televised conferences. Whoever ain't asleep by 1:30 ain't human!

I'm not sure that anybody would like Mrs. Bunker's crow. Every time she feeds it to me, I get it raw, feathers, and all.

I think civility needs to be mutual. I've always been a very outspoken hothead myself, and have learned to hold my tongue unless I'm under continual assault as Mr. Trump is.
I think he should be a little more subtle about it, but he's a New Yorker, and those people are just naturally brash, and rude. Unlike us Texans.
Part of the cultural differences in this huge country in my opinion.

We all win a little if everyone bends where they can, and grins to cover their discomfiture.

It's getting late. Have a good dinnertime, Archie.🍴

I always maintain a back supply of lollipops and I have my very own rainbow butterfly unicorn kitty cat, as well. Nearly busted my butt trying to move around the kitchen while he weaved and bobbed around my feet about five minutes ago, lol!

Good dodge and pivot. But you ignored my pointedly topical question.

What about the "civility" involved in the President encouraging and glorifying an actual unlawful violent assault upon a news reporter by an elected official?

You have a nice evening yourself, and if you get tired of the cats, don't send em here. We have intolerant dogs!
Damn bigots!

I buy them books, and all they do is chew on the covers.

The problem is that there was no smackdown of anyone. Once one party of an interaction iniates violent contact, chivalry dies and self defense rules apply.

The female intern was not smacked nor deliberately touched as SHE lunged in and grabbed for the mic and was unable to dislodge it from his grasp. The fact that the unplanned contact thus initiated by her action, of her arm with his hand as he twisted away from her can, at some artful angles and, if sped up artificially, appear to be a "karate chop" only shows that many people have never seen a real karate chop.

I think one of the "rules" thus generated should evict Mr. Trump from public conferences as soon as he starts getting snotty and disrespectful, saying things like, "Here we go again!" (eyeroll and mugface to camera) as he did for Mr. Acosta's respectfully worded but intensely pertinent and challenging question. If the best that a leader can do is this eight year old level snotty attempt to control the conversation, instead of imparting pertinent new information to his public we're all f***** anyway.

Mr. Trump is so easily distracted by creating and engaging in f**e shiny baubles of disinformation and ongoing personal vendettas, that he cannot answer the need for information the public requires. Sad.

Ima leave that spelled with aterixes like autocorrect spells it because in spite of the word f*** having the p**********l seal of approval through multiple uses in multiple p**********l public venues with p**********l friends, p**********l family members, p**********l children and p**********l old people in p**********l public speeches, OPP Administration has an unfriendly relationship with the word.

Acosta should have been tased and I think you might need one also. Did you actually watch the original footage? Go soak your head.

Maybe tasered is a little extreme, however b***h slapping and removing him by the scruff of his neck for acting like a narcissistic spoiled petulant child, and deposited in the hall outside the press room with the admonishment that he would be welcomed back when he could grow up and act like a responsible correspondent. I realize this would be a very high bar for Acosta and CNN to achieve, but we can always hope.
