Your statement that wages are rising for the average American is not true once inflation is factored in.
Inflation was low because wages stagnated the last dozen years or so. Inflation and wages are rising. I am a big supporter of Capitalism, but I favor the power shift occurring under Trump where the leverage is finally beginning to favor us little peons. All around me low wage fast food outlets cannot find enough workers. CDL drivers are in short supply. Eventually other occupations will find themselves short handed.
For years workers had to stay in crappy jobs and take crap from their bosses because there was no or little job mobility. Now workers are beginning to have the option of quitting for a better job. There is still a lot of inertia leftover from Obama, holding things back, but the trend is going in the right direction.
