Roy Clark, star of the old TV show Hee Haw recording artist and TV personality, is dead. He was 85. A truly sk**led musician and songwriter who played several instruments very well. While known for country music, his musical virtuosity extended to Pop, Classical and Show Tunes. One star whose life was unmarred by controversy, drug or alcohol abuse, or any of the other ailments du jour that seem to plague today's stars.
RIP, Roy.

Roy Clark was an exceptional musician. He and Glen Campbell were among the finest guitarists in the world. In fact, Jimmy Page (Led Zep), Frank Zappa, Joe Santriani, Stevie Ray Vaughn and other rock and heavy metal shredders studied Roy and Glen's techniques. Page, Vaughn and Zappa actually asked Roy Clark for lessons. Roy was a consummate entertainer and his work on TV shows often overshadowed his talent on stringed instruments.

On the TV show, "The Odd Couple", Roy Clark unleashes Malaguena on an acoustic guitar

And here is a British guitarist's analysis of Roy and Glen playing Ghost Riders in the Sky

God bless these two legends.

Roy Clark was an extraordinary artist and entertainer. My favorite recording by him, 'Yesterday, When I Was Young' continues to grow in stature with me as I age. RIP, Roy.

I had the distinct pleasure of attending Roy's show more than once at his place in Branson. Also have his "Under the Double Eagle" bookmarked for listening to often.
RIP Roy.
