They faced bullets and bombs and died for their country but T***p w*n't face the rain to honor them

As we have all seen, Trump's hair does not do well in inclement weather. Best not to invite pictures by the F**e News of a “bad hair day” (which we know almost had him cancel a Pittsburgh Rally for the Synagogue dead). He is in a snarky, dark mood since the Midterms and the results of the Cohen investigation, where investigators uncovered proof of the then candidate's direct criminal involvement; was he not in that office, Trump would be indicted. Guess he just “wants to be alone.” The WH did, however, push John Kelly and a delegation out into the weather to attend, unconcerned about "logistical difficulties" for them, apparently able to rustle up some galoshes and raincoats from a nearby thrift store.

Despite the light rain, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel held a moving ceremony in Compiegne, northeast of Paris, to mark the 100th anniversary of the signing of the World War One armistice. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended his own ceremony to pay tribute to Canadian troops k**led at Vimy Ridge, on the battlefields of northeastern France. (They have better rain-gear and planners than us? Special umbrellas?)

The impromptu decision to cancel prompted a rash of criticism on Twitter, with Nicholas Soames, a British member of parliament who is a grandson of former Prime Minister Winston Churchill, saying that Trump was dishonoring U.S. servicemen. "They died with their face to the foe and that pathetic inadequate @realDonaldTrump couldn't even defy the weather to pay his respects to the Fallen", Soames wrote on Twitter.

Ben Rhodes, who served as deputy national security adviser for strategic communications under President Barack Obama, said the excuse about the inclement weather did not stand up. "I helped plan all of President Obama's trips for 8 years," he wrote on Twitter. "There is always a rain option. ALWAYS."

Neither Putin or Trump had any reason to be there, they don't give a damn about the celebrations going on.

And then there's Obama standing in the rain, no shrinking snowflake

I stood at attention for hours in the rain before and I cannot respect a commander in chief who would not do the same.

That's apparently correct. This administration chose to make their rain option, "Stay in, out of the rain.", instead of the turd-in-a-suit- from-Kenya idea of, "Look like a stupid dork by having a Marine hold your umbrella."

rumatoid, there has to be a very close family connection between you and the i***t laughingly called "Baghdad Bob."

Will call Ancestry. com right now for a complete DNA breakdown. Thank you for possibly helping me to connect with lost family.

That sparked incredulity among some of Trump’s critics: Nicholas Soames, the Conservative MP and grandson of Sir Winston Churchill, tweeted: “They died with their face to the foe and that pathetic inadequate @realDonaldTrump couldn’t even defy the weather to pay his respects to The Fallen #hesnotfittorepresenthisgreatcountry.”

The US political commentator David Frum tweeted: “It’s incredible that a president would travel to France for this significant anniversary – and then remain in his hotel room watching TV rather than pay in person his respects to the Americans who gave their lives in France for the victory gained 100 years ago tomorrow.”

Today I came home and found out Trump took a day off-- He did not go visit wounded soldiers have groceries delivered to fallen soldiers wives and children not even a speech--nothing. I am very disappointed and let down. I am sure I am not alone in feeling this way. Heck if I were president I would fully fund the VA and and I would personally thank every soldier I possibly could.

The Secret Service determines when it's safe to fly Marine One and Air Force One. The Marine Corps, the Air Force and White House Military Office make the determination to ground the aircraft due to bad weather. The military office then presents the recommendation to the White House in collaboration with the Secret Service. The Secret Service also makes the decisions on ground t***sport of the POTUS and VIPs. Advance teams have to determine and secure the routes and the venue, they have to check out lodging, eating, services and any other facility, and they have to work with local police and government authorities. In some cases these advance teams may take a month or more to complete their tasks. Then there is the security and protection during t***sport to and from and throughout the entire event. It is a complex operation.

I spent four days at Ch**eau Thierry and an entire day at the battlefield in Belleau Wood. Bois Belleau is on a two lane highway out in the farm country in northern France, 10 km from Ch**eau Thierry. There is nothing out there but the battlefield, not even a farm house close by. I can understand why the Secret Service recommended a No-Go for a p**********l visit to Ch**eau Thierry and Belleau Wood. Sending a couple of generals is another matter altogether.

And, I am well aware of the weather conditions that occur in northern France and the UK, this region is at the same latitude as the state of Maine.

There are WW1 battlefields, cemeteries and monuments throughout northern France, from the Swiss border to the English Channel. Lots to choose from. I know because I visited many of them. No need for you lefties to get your panties in a twist because the Secret Service put the Kibosh on Trump visiting Ch**eau Thierry and Belleau Wood. Having been there myself, I sure as hell wouldn't recommend a p**********l visit this time of year.
