"...the most intimate and inexplicable kind of crime."?

Absolutely no doubt, this is horrible and tragic that Megan Huntsman made these headlines recently, "One Mother, 7 Dead Newborns and a Stunned Community in Utah". Heck, it even made the NY Times (among other mainstream media outlets).

Ever hear of Kermit Gosnell? No? He was the Philadelphia a******nist and America's worst serial k**ler, that was convicted of eight counts of murder. Whereas Megan Huntsman undoubtly will become a household name like Andrea Yates and Susan Smith, whoever heard of Gosnell?

"Although he was convicted of murdering three babies last year, it is suspected he k**led thousands of live, viable children throughout the course of his decades long career in Philadelphia. During his trial, seats for media were left unfilled and empty.".

Guess the MSM just thought the subject was too gruesome huh?

You are making a false dichotomy. Neither Megan Huntsman nor Kermit Gosnell, are fit for human company. They both stink!

Howdy Brian, haven't seen your posts in awhile. I do have to, ah heck here's that word again (agree) with you on both Huntsman & Gosnell. We have to stop agreeing like this or, the right-wingnuts will talk about me  . Why is this a false dichotomy? I'm merely making an indictment of the mainstream media and, maybe a******n in general. Could you not see that? People are horrified on a national scale about these women that k**led their children and, rightly so. Yet, over 53 million babies have been slaughtered in 2013 with fanatical activist and pro-choice types approval. I just don't get it?

Kmickale,

Thanks for your observations. The t***h is that both the NRA and a******n rights groups grossly distort the facts. Nowhere near as many people, as they would have you think, support "all kinds of guns everywhere" or a******n on demand. The majority of America does not feel human life should be played with, fast and loose.

I am pro-life straight down. I am like an old Catholic, even though, I am a non-observant Jew.

I don't believe in a******n except for the cases of rape, incest, profound brain deformities, or to save the life of the mother.

I do not believe in the death penalty, except for those who are war criminals, engaging in homicide, on a mass scale.

I do not believe Americans should be able to carry anything more than a single-shot deer rifle, after passing a stringent background check, and being certified in the use of their gun.

I sure as hell don't feel that people should be allowed to carry handguns in public places like movie theaters, restaurants, airports, schools, or public venues like parks, malls, stadiums, and arenas.

Both the "guns everywhere" crowd and the "a******n-for-any-reason" crowd show extreme disrespect for human life.

Brian, you are indeed a caring and intelligent person from what I have seen of your posts (except when you come at me fangs bared for wh**ever reason..., kidding). I too believe very much in the sanctity of human life, all life really and, the taking of it should never be done in a wholesale manner. I h**e war, but I would defend myself or a direct attack on our country if need be. I know innocent people have been and still are put to death, that makes the death penalty hard for me to support. I'm still thinking about that one. I love that you're pro-life. I feel blessed that I never have been in a position to make that decision personally. To be totally honest with you, I feel everything serious is a situational determined event and between the person and God, not man. Yet, I don't believe in lawlessness, far from it. I had a handgun in my home and thought, if I have a gun I may use it or, why have it at all. I sold it, because I really don't want to have to k**l anyone. Actually, more likely my wife would k**l me, but that's our little secret...Self-preservation, that's my motto. I like your view points on varied matters, thanks for your post!

Thank you for your post too. I will let you in on a little secret. It bothers me that I cannot discuss my sanctity of life views with many of the women in my own family. I love them dearly and do not wish to engage in conversations that would alienate them. I, however, cannot look at a developing human being as a "choice". The all-too-real photos of dismembered embryos are anything but propaganda. Once you see those, try as you will, you cannot un-see the pictures. It's like trying to un-ring the bell.

I totally understand your sentiments and beliefs Brian. Once I felt that maternal feelings were innate, but after seeing what feminist activism has done to the way woman think about the innocent lives that only they can carry and bring forth, I don't hold that view any longer. I know that the way women have been oppressed and marginalized by men, have given them the right to feel righteous indignation against the society that is responsible. I suppose that's why discussing anything to do with female issues, (especially pregnancy) with men justs incites them. The Bible, though having been accused of being the blueprint for sexisim, is anything but. Woman comes from man and, then man from a woman. Women are to rule side-by-side with man and that is Judeo-Christian teaching. When a woman decides that male input is no longer meaningful to her, we have a chaotic society. The head of man is Christ and, the head of a woman (in marrige) is man. Man should live his life according to God's precepts. Since men have and are failing to do this, women are left to figure life out on there own. Like men have done such a great job with this ourselves right? I've kind of rambled here, sorry. I just mean to say that when men and women come together and make decisions in the way it was intended from the beginning, it's good. I've been married nearly 40 years and have applied these principles in my life and, based on the results, they work like a charm.

I am glad these principles work for you but they don't necessarily work for everyone. My knowledge of Christianity is limited. As a Jew, I can tell you that orthodox Judaism is quite discriminating and dismissive of the genuine needs of women. It is very separatist, requiring men and women to avoid sitting together in public, and forbidding women from the more prestigious rituals of the faith. Orthodox women are viewed as being "unclean" when it is their time of month and their husbands avoid them.

90% of American Jews are not orthodox and view the teachings of the torah (5 books of Moses) and the written down oral law (talmud) as discriminatory, sexist, and invalid.

Hell would freeze over before my daughters would follow these puritanical restrictions from ancient times. Liberal and secular Jews rarely cross paths with these dinosaurs. When we do, they avoid us like "treif", their word for un-kosher.

That is what is called religion. I'm anything but relgious, if so I'd still be a Catholic. Jesus condemed the religious of His day.

"The only people Jesus ever criticized were those of His own religious group who were condemning and criticizing the prostitutes, murderers, tax collectors, gluttons, drunkards, and other “sinners.” Jesus criticized the religious leaders of His day who were making it hard for the “sinners” to experience the love, grace, and forgiveness of God. He wanted to make it easy for the kingdom of heaven to reign in people’s lives, not more difficult, and those who set up roadblocks received His harshest words.".

Sound familiar? I'm just appalled that over 2 million people flooded Vatican Square yesterday to see a man make another man a saint? Especially one that was the head of an organization that actively abused children, was silent about it, if not condoned these criminals. Then moved them around to avoid prosecution and, a drain on their money. That's man and his religion for ya.
