As you can tell by the hype, the Daily News is a virulently anti-Trump news? paper, so expect the same from the Democratic Party.

I think the reason the President waited until after the midterms to let Sessions go was so he could appoint an agressive "stick" AG while Congress wasn't in session to advise and consent. I also think Sessions was the quiet "carrot" to ease the Dems into the reality of what the AG's job function is (since we had 8 years of Obama AG's neglecting their duties).
