ABC News: California mass murderer “a white man in his late twenties”
NOV 8, 2018 9:49 AM BY ROBERT SPENCER LEAVE A COMMENT

Another ABC reporter says that an eyewitness called the gunman “middle eastern looking with a beard”:

Of course, when one moves out of the establishment media fantasy world, there is no reason why someone couldn’t be both “white” and “middle eastern looking.” Only in the fashionable fictions of today are “Middle Eastern” and “white” two distinct and non-overlapping categories. The real question here is whether or not the shooter was an Islamic jihadi, and that remains unanswered. Of course the identification of him as “Middle Eastern” suggests that he was a jihadi, while calling him “a white man” is intended to give the impression that he wasn’t one, and was a “right-wing extremist.” In reality, however, he could very easily have been “a white man” and an Islamic jihadi as well. But whether or not he really was a jihadi, we do not yet know.

“What we know about Thousand Oaks shooting suspect,” 6ABC.com, November 8, 2018:

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — A suspect has been identified in the mass shooting at a California nightclub, two law enforcement sources told ABC News.

The shooting happened late Wednesday inside Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks. At least a dozen people were k**led, including a sheriff’s sergeant, Ron Helus. None of the other victims have been identified.

Earlier Thursday morning, authorities said the gunman was found dead inside the nightclub. The motive is not clear and is under investigation, the law enforcement sources said. No name has been released for the suspect.

The suspect is a white man in his late twenties, according to ABC News. The Associated Press reported that he was 29….

US Marine vet.

The gunman who massacred 12 people at a country music bar in southern California on Wednesday night has been identified as an highly decorated ex-Marine.

Ian Long, 28, opened fire on the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks at 11.20pm. Long had been cleared by mental health experts after an incident in his home in April, sheriffs revealed on Thursday morning.

He k**led 11 people inside the bar and one of the first cops on the scene before taking his own life.

Long's motive remains unclear but neighbors say he was known to suffer PTSD. He served in the Marines for five years between 2008 and 2013, during which time he was awarded 10 medals and toured Afghanistan.

Survivors from the shooting said he looked 'like he knew what he was doing' as he repeatedly fired his legally purchased Glock .45 handgun on Wednesday night.

As dozens ran for their lives, hid beneath pool tables and used bar stools to shatter the windows to escape, Long continued firing and also threw smoke grenades to confuse the crowds.

When the first police officers arrived at the scene three minutes later, Long shot one of them multiple times before shooting himself.

By the time SWAT teams arrived, he was dead. His body was found in an office inside the bar. The sheriff's sergeant who was shot later died in hospital. He was Ron Helus, a 29-year veteran.

In total, 13 are dead; 11 people who were k**led inside the bar, the sheriff's sergeant and the gunman. Long is a former Marine who lived in nearby Newbury Park.

In April this year, deputies were called to his home amid reports of a disturbance. He was acting 'irrationally' and was 'irate' so police called in their mental health specialist. They cleared him, deciding against having him committed, and left him at the home.

I've always said it's not the dreaded assault rifle that makes the difference, that any good pistol can do the job. It's the mental health screening...

...so apparently he'd had altercations and was cleared? Perhaps the NRA has been a bit excessive on protecting the rights of mentally unhinged people?

The mental health aspect of firearms ownership is going to be a key issue, it's unhinged people doing these things. I object to resorting to banning things like assault rifles when the key to the problem lies elsewhere.

I doubt very much that a combat vet who goes over the edge is part of any banksters war. The guy went nuts is all.
