Oooh LIKE that song!! Little Justin has grown up, eh?? I'm hoping and praying Illinois gets a clue. I believe that if the republicans present a strong candidate for mayor of Chicago they have a great chance of winning. Little Rahm Emanuel not gonna run again, cuz whoever ran against him would win. Poor people in the worst areas are really ticked that when Prez Trump offered help Rahmie said no way. And if we could pry Mike Madigan out of the state legislature ...oh baby!!!

Rahm screwed that city royally and he’s not running again because he can’t get a handle on those angry people you speak of or his police dept he throw under the bus in cuts when he said he would hire more.. Or the Fireman he cut retirement pensions for along with the police dept who then sued that little mealy mouth liar and won..

He’s a Bo plant and nothing more and it shows!!

Perhaps that is true in Wyoming, but that's not true everywhere. Wouldn't throw a party yet if I'm a Republican:

Don't forget the Blues Festival.

When I was there I was also partial to the steaks at Weber Grills' steak house on E. Ohio (they use the charcoal grills that are their products to grill their burgers, steaks and chops), and there was a hot dogs and sausages fast food kind of place called Portillo's that could supply any demand in those categories.

Lastly, Italian beef, spicy roast beef I've never had anyplace but in Chicago.

Last time I was there was 2008, but from what I've heard, today you need to be armed to the teeth to go out at night.

I also like to play pool!!! Picked it up when I worked at Borg Warner in the early 70s. I worked nights 4-12 and we had a bowling league. Afterwards-drinking. I'm not one to sit at a bar and drink, need something to do. So I took up pool and loved it. The tournaments ARE a lot of fun! Dunno why I thought you lived in Iowa. Colorado such a beautiful state. Was camping at Rocky mountain national park a few times with my grandparents. FANTASTIC!! Yeah, Chitown NOT the place to be, but my kids and grandkids are all here, so here I stay!! Not to mention work of course. ☺☺ That one little detail☺

Yep. I avoid the city as much as possible. Portillos diners are ALL over!! Bit of trivia, Portillos started as a hot dog shack on North Avenue in Melrose park in the late 40s. Now one in every town around Chicago and they're always packed. Weber grills have gone suburban too My great gramps had an old time 3 flat on Astor street when I was young (he lived till I was 17) and I could walk all over the neighborhood with no worries. Astor street is still in a very nice neighborhood, but that unfortunately makes it a target for bad players. So....my grandma's family had a dairy in the city when she was a girl, her father would deliver in a horse-drawn cart. They had a summer place in ELGIN LOL. Okay enough walking down memory lane.

The Blues Festival you say?? Yes, been to a few of them...Outstanding venue (s) and artists..

Webers is still there and another I know well.. Ever had their meatloaf?? OMG and Portillos all over Chi~Town and out skirt areas as well..Now your talking is all I can say..

How about Spiaggia, on Michigan.. One of the million best Italian Resturants in the city!!!

Italian beef~~ no one ever comes close to what is served in any number of places that perfect its flavor.. A little hole in the wall place, Suzies on Montrose made the best ever!!! You had to order take out as the little place couldn’t hold the lines of people all day, all night ... Served with peppers and onions, way too much cheese.~, or simply just the roast beef in a roll to die for!!! Making me hungry!!! Hot au jus...

In closing~~ don’t ever, ever, ever ask for ketchup on your hot dog!! Some places will run you out.... lolololol

All this aside, I left it because the violence 40 to 100 shootings a weekend was not uncommon... Southside, the cops wouldn’t even go in with a r**t squad...

I carried and never left home without it!!
Colorado open carry and yet no need to.. Everyone knows your carrying and no one tries anything because of it either..

Yeah, it's too bad these neaveau "progressives" are doing what they're doing to great American cities.

When I was in Chicago I met some South American Architecture students who were there just to look at some of the great buildings. I stayed at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, and one of the rooms in the suite (I had to be a bit extravagant that trip because I needed to have conference space on demand) had a window wall view of a marina.

I explored quite a bit, the Lake Front, a couple of parks, the Water Tower mall, the Lincoln Square area, a truly great city.

What I read and hear about it now is a shame.

Liberal policies breed dangerous cities, then they want to take away your Second Amendment rights so you're helpless against the criminals their policing policies encourage to do as they please.

There will be a backlash against the anarchistic and destructive influence of the left and the root causes of their actions soon enough, of that I'm sure because they've pushed the envelope as far as most Americans will tolerate it, and that backlash, taking the left by surprise, will happen while Donald Trump is in the White House.

That last part may be very true. I don't think we look forward to that but neither would we shy away from it. The left continues to act as if there are no consequences for anything they've done or plan to do regardless of how outrageous it may be. Gross miscalculation.

TOP 10 REASONS TO V**E
DEMOCRAT OR NOT TO V**E

#10. I v**e Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry wh**ever I want. I’ve decided to marry my German Shepherd.

#9. I v**e Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon at 15% isn’t.

#8. I v**e Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

#7. I v**e Democrat because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

#6. I v**e Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.
I am also thankful that we have a 911 service that get police to your home in order to identify your body after a home invasion.

#5. I v**e Democrat because I'm not concerned about millions of babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive and comfy and get s*x c****e operations if they want one on the tax payer’s dime.

#4. I v**e Democrat because I think i*****l a***ns have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits, and we should take away Social Security from those who paid into it.

#3. I v**e Democrat because I believe that businesses should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrat Party sees fit.

#2. I v**e Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the v**ers.

#1. And, the #1 reason I v**e Democrat is: because I think it's better to pay $billions of U. S. Dollars ($) for oil to people who h**e us, but not drill our own because it might upset some endangered beetle, gopher or fish here in America .
We don't care about the beetles, gophers or fish in those other countries.

I believe the backlash started 2016 and keeps gaining momentum because the majority of the people, the citizens, of this country have in fact had it!!!

The best sight seeing of Chicago’s buildings of age and beautiful design are found when taking the river ride of architectural design, believe it or not.. Its about a 2 hour ride exploring the buildings under the building of times past... Then again one of the Intriguing things of Chicago downtown area are in fact those beautiful buildings hundreds of years old along with any number of churches twice that age...

You can pick up a carriage ride to explore some of it but it is best just to simply walk around. You were in the right area of downtown staying at that hotel. Attended a few conferences there myself...

The oldest building is the Clarke home, circa 1836, Architectural style, Greek Revival..I love the Aqua Building, Wrigleys, and well too many to list.. Their novel flair for unusual shows in the the architectural design itself...

Citizens of Chicago had to take the State to the Supreme Court to get their law of “ no weapons” allowed in Cook county.. A two year fight until the Supreme Court said unconstitutional.. The only ones who had weapons at that time was of course the criminals....

I sincerely believe Rahm, BO’s left hand man in DC was sent in to cause exactly what has happened to that once beautiful, cultural city of enticement.. No longer as you point out.. Taxes and taxes their answer to everything... Losing Businesses and homeowners by the droves they can’t wait to get out... Junk bond status puts them just about belly up too..Such a shame..

Until we start enforcing the laws on the books and charging them with inciting r**ts, calling for treasonous acts in their sell off of our country they will continue...

The more we allow the more they will do....We have allowed far too much and the breaking of dawn may well be in motion if we do not take to the v****g booths and run these people out on their ear!!Or after the guilty verdict swinging from a tree in public view... That would be both parties as well..

S**k of excusing politics as just politics its time to return dignity and follow the laws in place that save us from ourselves, politicans are not exempt they are the very reason we, the citizens, gave them authority of us as written in the Constitution and Bill of Rights. In other words time for us to require the enforcement of such or get the hell out of office.
