Any single little thing that doesn't match up becomes the BS factor. Naming witnesses becomes a major hurdle because if the alleged incident is a lie it gives each named witness another chance to be able to prove something couldn't have happened.

For the person alleged to have done something, the FBI would be the obvious go to that would easily be able to find things that go a long way to proving something couldn't have happened.

Meanwhile the FBI might not be able to make a case that something did, but if they can't find things that indicate it didn't or couldn't have happened it leaves the basic allegation on a credible note. Witnesses who say they can't remember a time or an incident to have taken place is not even close to being able to definitively say they did not. That is a faulty (inebriated?) memory against one who remembers perfectly well. Meanwhile a witness such as Mark Judge will be afraid to lie for his friend because there were enough people with knowledge that could easily catch him perjuring himself.

If Ford is lying the FBI will figure that out...easily
