I kind of understand why you don't want to v**e in November. What difference does it make if Republicans win in November? They don't do anything but cave, cave, cave. Now the FBI will investigate, take as much time as they say they need (how long has Mueller been investigating now?) and delay the v**e until the mid-term e******ns happen. Which is better? Spineless Republicans or g*******t Democrats? The Democrats get what they want anyway, so, again, what difference will it make even if the Dems don't gain control in November. It's a lose-lose for America either way. Why bother. And I'm sure we're not the only Republicans who feel this way.

I hear everything you say. I'm as frustrated as you are with this spineless group that holds the majority in both houses, but you've got to remember that it took a lot of years to get this dysfunctional. I'm talking way before Obama. Professional politicians have been around for decades. If Donald Trump had not tossed his MAGA hat in the ring, we wouldn't even be having this conversation because it would be nearly hopeless by now. We stopped the US from sliding into the g*******ts pocket and now we face a choice that will determine what happens to our children and grandchildren when we're long gone. We can get frustrated by the crap that is still going on and give up, or we can dig in our heels and do what is necessary to turn this great country around and get it back on the right path. And the 2nd option is not going to be rainbows and gummi bears for all. We're going to get our noses bloodied and there are going to be failures. The reason the Democrats are so good at what they are doing is that they're committed! They know what power feels like. What it can give. How to wield it. Even in the minority - they still kick ass. But if we band together and commit as they have, we can change things up. And if we're lucky enough to hang onto the White House in 2020, we've got 6 years at least to bend things back our way. None of this happens overnight or in 6 months or a year. We have to get the v**e out as never before in November and then again in 2020. Do you have any idea what our immigration picture might look like if we do what's needed for the next 6 years? Nobody is even talking about that because the Dems have been able to blow this SCOTUS mess up to where it blocks out the sun. So take 5 minutes - hell, take 10 - and grouse about what's happened to Judge Kavanaugh and then tell yourself you're going to do what it takes to stop this from happening again - and that means at the very least - V**E DAMMIT!

You make very well put and convincing points there, Fit...and thank you for your efforts to explain your perspective. You make a whole lot of sense, and have convinced me not to lose faith in our party and stand behind my country. I want America to be AMERICA again, and you're right, Trump is doing a lot and his best to help us get on the right track.

Thank you very much for this - I will v**e in November (and 2020!)

Thank you EmilyD. Trust me, this will look better soon. And share your new-found optimism. If you find one of your friends or acquaintances sounding like they may not v**e because they're frustrated, convince them that NOT v****g because they've lost hope is just what the Democrats/Socialists/Left/Wh**ever are counting on. Every time I get down I go back and watch the youtube video compilations of the night of Nov 6, 2016. I watch the Left go from supremely complacent to confident to showing some doubt to disbelief and finally to tearfully blaming everything from White-lash to Russia. After 15 or 20 minutes of bathing in the digital tears of all those elitist snowflakes, I stop, spend a minute or two in quiet thought, and I'm ready to get back into the fray. I think a lot of you need to go back to that night and remember how it felt to slay the d**gon, when the world knew we had no chance to succeed. I know that some time this weekend, I'm going to do exactly that because I need a recharge as much as the rest of you after the crap-sandwich that this past week has been.
