Well finally, what should have happened at the beginning looks like it is going to occur now. Today, Senator Jeff Flake, the one person who can derail the Kavanaugh nomination, spoke up to demand that the FBI conduct an investigation of the allegations against Kavanaugh. Whether this will include all allegations or just Dr. Fords will be up to the WH. The irony is that if the WH had gone ahead and done this, in the beginning, they would have had time to nominate another candidate and possibly get them through whereas now a new nomination will likely be thrown into a new year and possibly a Democrat Senate. If this were to happen the question to be asked is whether the new Senate will do a "Merrick Garland" on a new nominee and delay the v**e until 2021?
