Ford originally agreed to testify before walking it back and saying she would like the FBI to first investigate Kavanaugh, something that would be out of the FBI’s jurisdiction as the crime would have been a state crime to be investigated by local police.

Now, she says she would only like the senators to question her during her testimony, instead of Kavanaugh’s lawyer, and to testify after Kavanaugh.
The Democrats, who dropped her story as an eleventh-hour hail mary attempt to stop the confirmation they’ve been vehemently opposing since before they even knew who Kavanaugh was, are unsurprisingly adamantly supporting Ford’s unusual requests.

There’s only one, huge problem.
Ford’s requests aren’t just unusual.

They’re unconstitutional.
In this nation, we have a little thing called the Bill of Rights, and in it, everyone is guaranteed a right to face their accusers in court. You absolutely cannot be compelled to testify to your own innocence before you are given the opportunity to hear the accusation made against you.
The Sixth Amendment reads:

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

No matter where you go in the country or what court you are in, what makes our nation’s unique liberties so secure is that every single individual has the right to a fair trial and to answer the accusations made to them.
Kavanaugh has emphatically agreed to testify and has categorically denied every detail of Ford’s story. If Ford is telling the t***h, and she would like her story to be taken into account as Kavanaugh is scrutinized by Congress before being appointed to the Supreme Court or not, our Founding Fathers have ensured both she and Kavanaugh have the means for justice to be served, freely and fairly.
The Senate Judiciary Committee is not her personal kangaroo court where Kavanagh may be condemned based on her word alone. Unfortunately, she has no evidence, no witnesses, and few details to provide to corroborate the claims she is making.

It will be a sad and terrible day in American when anyone can accuse someone else of a crime with no evidence and expect to be believed with no constitutional, due process.
Sexual assault is always wrong, but the best way to combat it is to properly scrutinize the charges before a court so that the integrity of our judicial system is maintained.

Hopefully, this is what we will see this week.

Now I must ask, Who or would any man of honor and CONSERVATIVE ever want to volunteer for a SCOTUS? If we don't fix this we are screwed.

Pretty hard to press charges when you don't have a date, a location. Or any corroborating witnesses. AND both alleged parties were minors...how does one investigate that?

But it is working. And has worked before and will work again. So long as the Conservatives are more moral and will not fight dirty like the Dems, they will lose even if only in the court of public opinion. Who in his or her right mind would want to volunteer for the position of SCOTUS if this is what is to be expected? You step up to serve and you lose your entire future, your family and your colleagues will always wonder if the accusations were true.

So we lose the most qualified applicants, we lose in the hearings, we lose the ability to put our own in the court, yet we, like Nice Guys, always agree to v**e in the left-leaning judges put up by the Dems.

The republicans in the Senate could put a stop to this today. They could force a v**e and confirm. Even agreeing to more hearings over this accusation is craven weakness.

What I see is we are not fighters. We have no bottom. We deserve to lose even if this leads eventually to the loss of the entire country. Unless we see the real threat and stand up and fight there is no future for this country except to continue to follow Venezuela down the same path.

BTW, why don't we elect non-political judges? Why partisan? Surely being a partisan judge should disqualify him/her. Isn't the oath of office to support and defend the Constitution? Not to defend and support the DNC/RNC? Why not hold all judges' feet to the fire and force them to put aside political interference and judge based on the law. So long as politics is the standard we really don't have impartial judgments or a fair legal process at all. I never hear the talking heads bring this up; are they so disillusioned and resigned? What happened to honor and integrity? Do they not have a place any longer in our wonderful Venezuela wannabe?

No DA in his right mind would prosecute a case with no evidence. Peg: are U completely devoid of the rules of evidence? Cavanaugh is innocent until proven guilty. Guilty? Upon what evidence. God help every male in our society if all it takes to convict them of rape s for a females say so. It's time. Females have turned the culture on it's head. Males ask a female for a date and that constitutes sexual harassment. Well guys. I suggest that U wear a name sticker on your shirt that reads: "Wanta date me, ask me". That will relieve U of the potential charge of sexual harassment. Furthermore, never be alone with a female unless she signs a consensual sex form.

That "sad and terrible day in America when anyone can accuse someone else of a crime with no evidence and expect to be believed" is already here and has been for a while. We constantly see a person's reputation, even careers, smeared by the left's accusation of r****t, etc, an accusation readily believed by millions of Americans. But, this time the democrats and l*****ts used the very easiest accusation of instant condemnation, sexual assault. Because, you see, today, it is immaterial that females play a role in sexual encounters just as the male does. No, that fact is irrelevant, if the accuser is female she must instantly be believed without question. No evidence, no questions, big story holes, but instant belief. I feel sure we will see more and more of this and much worse.

Gosh I hope not. I HOPE, one way or another, Ms Ford is shown to be a liar, a fool or both and it will make others think twice before engaging in these sorts of behaviors

If he is confirmed, what approach do you think he will take to his fellow jurists who, from what I could read, said nothing to defend him or the process of confirmation (especially the way it was sh1t on by the left)? Will he put it behind him and gracefully work with those l*****t sh1thole judges or will he despise them for their gross partisanship and lack of support? How can he work with them now? Maybe it will give him some more backbone to stand up to them in the cases they handle and show them how a real conservative (ie honest) judge behaves.
