Reports coming from Axios now indicate that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has verbally told White House Chief of Staff John Kelly that he is resigning.

According to two different sources speaking to Axios, Rosenstein, who expected to be fired by the President, has instead decided to resign. One source indicated that the resignation has already come in the form of a verbal announcement to John Kelly, while the second source indicated that Rosenstein planned to resign after being made aware of the President’s intention to fire him.

“He’s expecting to be fired,” one of the sources told Axios.

This news comes on the heels of a New York Times article last week that indicated that Rosenstein had considered using the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump from office, as well as allegations that he suggested recording the President within the White House. These allegations have since been written-off as a joke by others in the room at the time.

I guess he had conspired against the President....otherwise, he would stand up and prove the NYT wrong. Are all the carry overs from obama and bush as dishonest? I think that President Trump needs to terminate all employees who are hold overs from previous administration. Just clean house! Rosenstein was first hired back in 1997 by Bush's administration and we know the relationship between Bush and the Clintons..... It really is time to drain the DC swamp. Put new blood in that will support our leaders rather than undermining them.

I really doubt this report. Trump has been trying to get rid Rosenstein since he fired Comy. Rosenstein has helped keep the FBI from being corrupted by Trump.

Better resign than to be fired. He could get his retirement pension if he resigns. When fired probably not.

I hope he resigns. Then that inept Sessions will be rendered even more useless. And if that happens get him out please. Get someone who works for the American people.

Session is just consuming, get salary without doing anything. Send him back to Congress.

Isn't Jeff Sessions Rosenstein's boss? Why would Rosenstein resign to Kelly, or even go directly to the President and resign?

I do believe that all future appointments moving forward will be Loyalist.
However I am starting to worry about everyone in the House and Senate who are over the age of 78years. Here lately when something comes up from 30 years ago or further back, someone up there always seems to have information but never did anything about it way back then.
What is wrong with our politicans?
87 year old Feinstein is a wealth of information, but does not use it wisely.
Nancy Pelosi is completely out of it , (mentally,) and Mad Maxine has really made a name for herself.
Are mental inquest out of the question when it comes to the Security of our Nation?

A friend of mine (who should know) says there are several members taking Alzheimer's and other medication who should have retired long ago for medical reasons. That power addiction must be like cocaine.
