RUSSIA TO ISRAEL: YOU ARE WHOLLY TO BLAME FOR THE DOWNING OF THE PLANE
Russia furious after Israel gave it minute warning before Latakia strike.

The Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigo slammed Israel on Tuesday, claiming that its "irresponsible actions," led to the downing of a Russian military aircraft and the deaths of 14 servicemen over Latakia, Syria late Monday night. According to Russia, Israel only warned it one minute before launching the strikes.

The Russian Defense Minister spoke on the phone with Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and told him that Moscow holds Israel wholly to blame for the shooting down of a Russian military plane near Syria. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Russia was extremely concerned, adding that Russia's position had already been set out by the Ministry of Defense, as reported by Reuters.

Syrian air defense mistakenly shot down a Russian military plane on Monday night while the Syrian regime was targeting multiple missiles flying over Latakia, according to reports. Russia says that its IL-20 plane with 14 servicemen aboard lost contact with radar near Khmeimim air base near Latakia. Russian media said the plane disappeared during “an attack by Israeli F-16s” and claimed to have “registered the launch of missiles from a French frigate.”

A statement by the Russian Defense Ministry said that "Israeli aircraft deliberately created a dangerous situation for surface ships and aircraft in the area." The Russian statement said Israel put the Russian plane in danger by flying close to it.

"As a result, the IL-20, whose effective reflective surface is an order of magnitude larger than that of the F-16, was shot down by a C-200 missile," the statement noted, indicating that the anti-aircraft missile mistook the IL-20 for a target because it was a larger object than an F-16.

Moscow said Israel would have been aware of the Russian plane's presence as it slowed to land at an altitude of 5 km. "They deliberately went through with this provocation."

Russian forces were also not warned via a "hotline" from Moscow to Jerusalem, until one minute before the strike. This did not allow the Russian plane to reach a safe area."We regard the provocative actions of Israel as hostile. As a result of the irresponsible actions of the Israeli military, 15 Russian servicemen were k**led. This is absolutely not in keeping with the spirit of the Russian-Israeli partnership. We reserve the right to adequate response," the ministry said.

The complex battle that unfolded over Latakia on Monday night illustrates the perils of having so many forces operating in close proximity. In addition to Russian navy and air force in the area, there is Syrian air defense operating Russian-made air defense systems, and there are Turkish forces to the north, Iranian m*****as and alleged missile production facilities. This area in Latakia and neighboring Hama is only around 100 km. wide and includes 80 km. of coastline.

The Syrian regime has accused Israel of numerous airstrikes over Hama in the last year. On September 6, new satellite images were released showing the consequences of an airstrike near Masyaf which is on the road from Latakia to Hama. On September 2, images from Image Sat International were also released along with a report on an alleged Iranian missile facility in Wadi Jahannam east of Baniyas and about 20 km. from the Russian naval facility at Tartus.

Syrian state media claimed their air defense was activated around 10 p.m. on Monday to confront “foreign objects” coming from the sea. Video showed explosions, burning, and missiles searching skyward for targets. One video appeared to include the sound of low flying aircraft, and showed a missile strike a target near a civilian home in the Latakia countryside. Another video from Latakia city itself showed people partying while missiles shot skyward at glowing objects.

A photo posted online revealed men who appeared to be sitting near the Beauty cocktail bar on the southern Corniche of Latakia, enjoying the view of the bay, while a massive explosion rocked a hill in the distance.

Initially the attack was described as simply “foreign,” and pro-Syrian regime social media accounts speculated that it was either carried out by Israel or by the United States using cruise missiles.
“I can unequivocally say it this is not us,” US Pentagon spokesman Navy Commander Sean Robertson told VOA News’s Carla Babb on Monday night.

Soon after, Russia reported it had lost contact with its plane. The Ilyushin 20 surveillance prop plane was coming in from the sea.

CNN reported the US became aware of the missing plane because “Syrian forces broadcast an emergency search and rescue radio call.” CNN also reported that a US official “confirmed that Israel was responsible for the missile strikes on the Syrian regime.”

Russian media specifically alleged that Israeli F-16s were involved. The Russian plane disappeared from radar at 11 p.m., which appears to be almost an hour after the Syrians activated their air defense to confront the initial round of attacks.

Pro-Syrian social media accounts claimed the attacks on Syria included strikes not only in Latakia countryside, but also in Hama, near Baniyas and Tartus. Because of the proximity of these areas, it is possible that missiles flying over Latakia from the sea, for instance, and heading for Hama could be mistaken for targeting two different places.

The scale of the strikes surprised the Syrian regime and set in motion a string of events that led to them shooting wildly and downing the aircraft of their own ally.
This should not have happened, but it appears to reveal that Syrian air defenses do not monitor the flights of their Russian colleagues, or that the air defenses did not operate properly, and inadvertently targeted a friendly aircraft as opposed to an enemy.

To distract from the failure, both Russia and the Syrian regime have pointed fingers at the French frigate Auvergne.

The air battles over Latakia came hours after Turkey and Russia had agreed to a buffer in nearby Idlib that would prevent a Syrian regime offensive. In Moscow there would have been calm after the discussions, with the looming battle postponed.

Russia has had a naval presence off the coast of Syria in the wake of a large naval exercise earlier this month. The ships were likely in place in case the Idlib conflict increased.

In addition, Moscow has been in a war of words with western states, accusing Syrian rebels in Idlib of preparing a “false f**g” attack of chemical weapons that would give the US an excuse for more air strikes.

France is one of the countries that might have joined in those air strikes. This presents a complex and toxic mix of naval maneuvering off the coast of Latakia. It was in this context that the Russian plane was shot down, amid a crowded sky and coastline involving ships and planes of various countries.

The wild night over Latakia points to the potential for escalating conflict. Even as Turkey and Russia thought they had forestalled an Idlib battle, the air strikes on Latakia show that one wrong move could lead to a mistake.

Russia has its own air defense in northern Syria, including the S-400 system. Speculation has stirred over whether Russia would activate the system to protect its Syrian ally or to protect air strikes targeting Iranian targets in Syria. It appears the system was not used last night.

With both Russia and the US pointing the finger at Israel over the air strikes so soon after they occurred, the tensions in Latakia are also higher than usual. Usually both Moscow and Washington remain tight-lipped on assigning blame for the numerous air strikes on Syria.

Over the last year and a half, Israel has carried out around 200 air strikes on Syria using 800 munitions, according to a September 4 report revealed by the IDF. On September 17, just hours before the air strikes, the Syrian Observatory of Human rights also said that 113 Iranians and their m*****a allies had been k**led in Israeli air strikes in Syria.

Israel didn't shoot down that plane. It was performing an air strike against Iranian backed military targets, and was accidently brought down by Syrian antiaircraft fire. It wasn't the first case of death from "friendly fire" and won't be the last. Whether you side with Israel or Syria/Iran, the fact remains that it was in the wrong place at the wrong time. If you get between two pitbulls in a fight, you are bound to get bitten. Somehow, I don't feel that the surviving family members of those k**led 35 years ago when Russia shot down a Korean Air 747 are losing too much sleep over it.

Has anyone asked themselves what kind of game is being played over there? Israel is supposed to warn Russia when they plan to attack, so the Russian's can get out of the way. If Russia is supposed to be on the side of Syria, why are they getting out of the way and letting the attacks take place? If I'm friends with someone, I'm not gonna move across the street, so they can more easily be accosted.

Syria, it appears is in a no-win situation. When thinking of Syria's plight, I'm reminded of a scene where a group of dogs are tuggin' on a rag. Syria is in the unfortunate position of being the rag. Obviously, Syria has something the rest want. Each dog, of course, has its reasons for tuggin' on the rag.

Iran's motives are the most puzzling. Why keep setting stuff up in Syria, only to have it blown up? If they have a problem with Israel, get it on. Quit screwin' around! Turkey is in the mix, as well. I think that has something to do with the Kurdish problem. Russia is probably involved for economic reasons, with an eye on Syria's oil. All these countries mentioned have staked out positions inside Syria's borders. Perhaps except Israel. I think, though, the Golan Heights were part of Syria prior to being captured during the 67 war.

Israel has multiple reasons for beating up on Syria. One of which, because they can! Having bought off the feckless US Congress to act on their behalf, thru threat of the possibility of sending in the US military. And, of course, security reasons. Also, let's not forget the dreams of a greater Israel. Syria is part of the greater Israel scheme.

Unfortunately, too many have bought into the propaganda, where Syria and the Middle East is concerned. Syria isn't a threat, neither is Iran. Nor was Iraq, nor Libia. Most of the strife in the Middle East and Africa was deliberately caused. One of the reasons, I think, to cause massive immigration flocking to the west. Immigration to the west is a plank in the globalization platform. Flood the west with immigrants to a point of losing a countries identity.

Was it, Retired General Wesley Clark that said he was at the Pentagon when someone called him into their office and told him, plans are being drawn up to attack seven countries in the Middle East? Mr. Clark is inclined to ask why. The other party claims he doesn't know. I suggest he does know, and who's behind the idea.

Russia and Iran should get serious about protecting Syria from Israeli aggression.

Your last sentence sums it up in a sense. Russia, Iran, and Syria are all playing on the same time; with the State of Israel being their main opponent. What you and Russia are objecting to, is how Israel didn't warn them until the last minute. The reason is plain and simple. Israel was engaging in airstrikes against enemy targets where the element of suprise can make the difference between success and failure. Had Israel gave the Russians advance warning, at the very least, they would have tipped off their Syrian and Iranian allies; at the very most, they might have intervened directly. We know how you feel about Israel and Jews, and that is your perogative. It is not hard to guess what you would like to happen to Israel. Wanting something to happen is not the same as expecting it to happen.

What you're implying is that it's okay to inter and bomb another county for no reason other than paranoia. What has Syria done to cause these attacks? For Israel to decide to bomb another counties territory based on an imagined threat is warmongering. In fact, Syria is the one who has a right to complain, for it was Israel who financed and promoted the terrorist causing the Syrian civil war. I, also, suspect that the US had a hand in helping to support the terrorists attacking Syria.

I'll add that it's Dr. Assad that has made it a point to protect Christians when others were only too willing to slaughter 'em.

And it's those Israeli terrorist proxies that are bottled up at Idlib, Syria. Ergo the push to negotiate a settlement, rather than Russia and Syria wiping them out. You may be willing to accept the unfairness of it all, others aren't so inclined.

What has Syria done to provoke those attacks? It is engaged in several wars of aggression against Israel since its founding, and to this day, still considers itself to be at war with Israel. More recently, it has provided a base for Iran to wage its war of terror against the Jewish state. As for protecting Christians, you are right on that one. It is not because of any love for Christians or respect for their faith. Between his on and off skirmishes with Israel, and his ethnic cleansing of Sunni Muslims in his own country, he just can't spread himself too thin. Besides, they are too few and too powerless to pose any threat. The same can't be said of Israel or his Sunni rivals

Well, you can believe what you like. You mention several wars, I only remember one, 67. As for Iran waging war, the only thing I recall is being accused of flying a drone into Isreal. Isreal used that incident to attack with missiles. So a drone flies across the border, and Israel retaliates with Missiles? A bit of overk**l?

Look, I realize where you're coming from, you feel that Israel can do no wrong. I believe it is the cause of most of the troubles in the world. I think, though, that others are beginning to see things a bit similar. While a bit flaky, even the neophyte politician, Ocasi Cortese, is able to see a pattern of Israeli trouble making.

I'll consult my friend, Bro. Nathanael, regarding this topic, for his opinion.

Assad needed outside help to deal with Isis. Except for one city Isis is gone. Assad should thank Russia, Turkey, and Iran for their help but it is now time for them to leave. Except they are hyenas and Syria is bleeding and has 3 million fewer people, mostly Christians, to rebuild the nation. None of them are leaving and Assad can't force them to go. I think he has already lost his country. Israel is doing what it should, by protecting its people and nation. There isn't any doubt that Iran under the Ayatollah seeks the destruction of Israel, it's well documented. The Iranians can return home or be k**led, their choice. Russia just wants the oil as protection money and Erdogan wants to bring back the Ottoman Empire under his rule. Russia should not blame Israel but encourage Iran to leave and that would solve the Israeli attacks. That's the surface story, I'm sure there are other reasons we are not being told about. But I'm sure our black hats in the CIA are to blame for a lot of it, add in the banksters and NWO elite and the picture becomes clearer. They always seem to escape punishment until Trump. They are the cabal behind the curtain who really start all the wars and deaths to maintain their power and love of money. They don't really care who dies or how many, as long as they remain on top and in the shadows and sacrifice people, especially babies to their god Satan. They have a deep state organization in every nation. They are the ones we all should be tracking down and eliminating. I think that's Trump's long game. IMHO.
