If you know anything about the psychology of rape, most women experience a profound sense of shame. There is also the reality of how defense attorneys treat them: make them out to be whores. They just want to forget. But they can't. That brutal invasion of their being, sense of independence, and safety is always with them. To come forward takes incredible courage. But then there can be a trigger, a breaking point. Such as with Kavanaugh, though it is not yet proven, and Roy Moore. The thought of their alleged abusers not olny going scot-free but now getting a highly respectable position is finally too much. Enough! their heart shouts. The fear is gone.
