I agree with you. The drug companies us five cents worth of material and make a pill that ends up costing the patient or insurance company $25 PER PILL.
The biggest cost is the salesperson and the kickbacks paid to the doctors that prescribes their pills.

But you do have a point that the Politifact article makes an assumption. But the assertions that follow, though the source did not validate the assumption, do seem plausible and worthy of consideration.
Further your denigrating of the source by calling it "politicrap" is a kind of reverse "argumentum ad verecundiam", whereby you attempt to invalidate the data because of your personal bias against the source.

You forgot the FDA, the agency that approves all of these drugs.....interesting to know who funds their budget.
Take note, too.....I have kept a record for years and it's appalling how many of the new drugs come on the
market, (approved by the FDA) and six months to a year a later those drugs appear in ads by law firms where
they are being sued up the ying-yang.
