There is nothing more complicated than the ME.
Kurds, best fighters, a nightmare for ISIS.
Turkey our major ally, h**es the Kurds.
Kurds want their own homeland.
Turkey refuses to allow Kurdistan.
If we left there, they could settle it on their own.

More than likely by settling the Kurds. These people have gotten a damn raw deal, in Turkey and in Iraq. Turkey, in particular has persecuted them constantly. You know, the same Turkey that murdered about 2 million Armenians right before WWI? I have trained with Turkish troops, and the biggest favor they could do for us is to enlist in the Russian Army. The troops I trained with were poorly trained, poorly disciplined, and all-around screwups.

I wasn't talking about Mustafa. (By the way, he was born in Greece). FYI, it's Ataturk. Not to be confused with Whataturk or Whodaturk.

In the 60s when I was in the military, the only thing my fellow soldiers could remember about Turkey was everybody saying hail attaturk and the whorehouse compounds.

Never been to Turkey. The so-called soldiers I [trained?] with should have spent more time in the field and less in those whorehouses.
