A dodge-feed-your-base-tactic. That's it! Or, they have no legitimate response to the subject so distract with a personal attack. If you have a legitimate point, be decent and caring and make it. No personalities. Why make it about personalities when so much more is at stake? But so many on the Right use this strategy over and over and over again. Just read today's comments. It's typical. The president's words and actions are mostly indefensible. They know this. Attack the opposition saves the embarrassment. Standard for the Right.

If someone acts base and mean-spirited, responding in same has no excuse: it makes you the same. If people act poorly, how is this a excuse to do the same? It makes one a puppet.
