Apparently he suffered cardiac arrest.

My prayers for his family and may the "Smokey" rest in peace.

He once said, in true Burt Reynolds fashion, "Marriage is about the most expensive way for the average man to get laundry done."

He was one of the very few Hollywood people for whom I have any respect.

That’s funny! I’ll bet a lot of actors have felt that way after marrying gold diggers.

I agree. John Wayne was a great American patriot. As were a few others.

After 1960's NONE.

I first remember him from his role as the half-breed b****smith, Quint Asper, on TV's Gunsmoke during the years 1962-65. His best role ever, IMO, was in 1972's 'Deliverance.'

R.I.P., Burt.

Another great Reynolds movie quote from Heat in 1986 "Well, I've been knocked down, blown up, lied to, s**t on, shot at, I'm not a virgin except in my heart, nothing much surprises me anymore except what people do to each other. I'm a licensed pilot, I lectured on economics at Yale, and I can memorize the front page of the New York Times in five minutes, and repeat it back to you in five weeks. I was National Golden Gloves Champion three years in a row and I'm fluent in four languages. And... I lie a lot!"

I liked his "Smokey and the bandit" all three of them. Heat was another good one. He will be missed.
