Regulation dictates the flying of the f**g at half staff for presidents down to congress. It is mandatory and does not require any special action. Nor does it require the President's approval.

A civilian death requires a proclamation. The f**g was lowered to half staff for the day of Billy Graham's interment. Not for days, but hours.

It is not a matter of who was the better man.... they are beyond our judgment.

My understanding is that John McCain died late afternoon/early evening Saturday. Was the f**g at the White House NOT at half mast Sunday as has been reported in a number of places? "Donald...ordered it to full staff after McCAIN passed." Hmmm. Methinks somebody is spreading F**e News. Now, was it raised again to Full Staff too soon. A valid question. But why do you not just report what happened and knock off the false claims. If you guys don't stop it, I have it on good authority the President is going to remove the bust of Martin Luther King from the oval office again...wait...what?

I'm curious. How do you know that Trump ordered the f**g to be risen from half staff? I thought it was the Marines that followed f**g protocol at the White House. Protocol for a Senator is that the f**g be flown at half staff on the day of the Senator's death, and one more day. (The f**g is flown at half staff longer for Secretary of State, Vice President and President.) I know Trump probably told them to lower it again, but do you know for a FACT that he ordered it to be risen to full staff? Does it say somewhere that he made a direct order to fly the f**g at full staff?

Hopefully in heaven because there were very few Americans that gave more for this country than John McCAIN no matter wether you agree or disagree with his ideology. He was a maverick in the Senate because he firmly believe in the process and attempting a bi partisan solution.
