The symptom, not the disease

Whether one is 100% pro Trump, 100% anti Trump, or somewhere between the two extremes, one should realize that a Trump Presidency is a symptom of what ails America, not the cause. Continent sized partisan gulf, rhetoric sans common sense, vitriolic political discourse, money before country, and wh**ever other tomfoolery one has identified, all existed well before the run up to the 2016 e******ns. Had this not been the case, there is little doubt that Donald Trump would not have survived the 1st GOP debate.

The Obama administration flaunted a remarkable recovery from the recession of 2008, followed by a Clinton bid for President promising to continue the recovery, both having ignored those people hit the hardest by the recent economic downturn. Yes, the economy was going very well............for those who hardly noticed that something had happened in 2008. Under normal circumstances, someone with as much baggage as Hillary Clinton, even if wholly undeserved, would not have received the nod from the DNC - however - the bulk of the Democratic donors supported Clinton, so they chose money over a more viable candidate. The need for greed is alive and well.

Terrorism rampant all over the world, America embroiled in multiple wars in multiple theaters to combat terrorism, in turn causing a global refugee crisis, some of whom might end up here. Anecdotal evidence that Muslim refugees pose no threat to Americans, can come only AFTER the refugees are settled here - so fearful Americans must wait and see. Who the hell would sign on to a deal like that? An opioid crisis the likes of which hasn't been seen before, the bulk of the illegal dope crossing the southern border, along with multitudes of brown skinned invaders bringing crime and disease, causing fearful Americans to grasp wh**ever lifeline they can find.

The bottom line is this; Donald Trump picked the scabs off of the sores America already had, and continues to pick at them, keeping them inflamed and infected. To date, there is no one offering any healing strategies. Simply pointing out the sores is a ridiculous strategy, blaming Trump for causing the sores is just wrong and counterproductive.

America desperately needs someone to show up with some antibiotic ointment to heal those sores. America does not need a scab picker, which will scar America for eternity, nor does America need a cosmetologist who will only try to cover up the sores so no one can see them.
