That is high among the stupidest comments you have made on OPP.

Please take this thread seriously.....I want to start the conversation about huge problem we have with i*****l i*********n.....Lets discuss it civilly.....

The reason this is a problem is that society and the government has complicated it. We as a nation should keep it simple. Simple solution: when caught illegally crossing our border, or living here illegally, they have a choice between leaving immediately at their expense or going to jail/prison. No rights, welfare or support of any kind. Once they know this is the experience they will receive, there will be no reason for them to cross our borders illegally. Of course there will be a few exceptions. Those choosing jail/prison the term length will be permanent until they change their mind and retreat back across the border or their home country comes for them and takes them back. The conditions in jail/prison should be minimum care. Jail/prison should be a punishment not a free vacation. For those of you who think this solution is inhumane let me remind you that their k*****gs, unlawfulness and their financial support by the tax payer is inhumane as well. It's time we start taking care of ourselves and stop trying to support the whole world. Note: this opinion does not affect legal immigration, work visas, tourists with passports, etc.

1st, we must agree that the vast majority of i******s are here to feed their families or better their own lives.

2nd, we should agree that America is not the world's welfare agency, and we take in plenty of legal immigrants without any i******s.

Life isn't fair. The innocent deaths aren't even the only problem with i******s. They drain our resources. They fill our jails. They bring drugs and crime into the country.

Every life an illegal takes is just one more that wouldn't have been k**led if these i******s had not been in this country. Only one k**led by an illegal is one too many. I believe the numbers are in the hundreds if not the thousands.

We need to recognize that people who enter illegally have broken our laws and are not entitled to courts, lawyers or waiting time for hearings. They are entitled to the minimum medical and humanitarian care needed to assure they stay alive long enough to survive the trip back across the border.

We need an end to chain migration as well as lottery migration. Each and every individual who comes to this country must be vetted and definitely cannot be an economic refugee. We need an end to the H1B programs that allow corporations to hire Indians with Doctorates for less than they would pay an American Engineer or Mathematician. Any company, like Disney, who dumped their Engineering staff and replaced them whole cloth with H1B's should be compelled to pay the salaries and carry the benefits of the replaced workers until their retirement.

We need to end the importation of cheap labor, which has contrived to deprive American workers of their share of the pie. Real wages have not gone up in thirty years even though productivity per worker has doubled and tripled. Arguments that our immigrant forbears were just like the current crop of i******s and legals is plain non-sense. The nation is not the same and the needs are not for unsk**led hands, but for people with some substantial sk**l set. Prior immigrants did not come from a culture of murder, rapine, theft or general disobedience to law.

Another reform which must be addressed is a genuine identification, to certify citizenship, which must be used to obtain any benefit from the government or to v**e in our e******ns. It is bad enough that these i******s come here and distort our economy but when they usurp citizenship they deprive me and all other citizens of our rights. The ID needs to have teeth, if someone is caught using f**e ID it must be a felony with a mandatory 40 year sentence and with a death penalty for second offense. Anyone manufacturing or providing such false ID gets a mandatory death sentence.

That is the best and most complete post I have seen on this site. I agree completely. If Mexico can have a government ID card for it's citizens, why would it be so hard for us to have the same type of card. That would prevent anyone from v****g illegally.

Defense Attorney for Rivera wants to exclude media coverage from the proceedings because its to biased against his client!!!...Hell yes its biased...Rivera confessed to k*****g Mollie Tibbetts!!!.....I hope we can see that SOB,POS sqirm!!!..They are planning on releasing him out on bond!!!!...Judge says he has all these rights!!!BS!! He has NO rights!!!....I cant believe they are even thinking about letting him out before the trial!!

This is one thing I have never understood. A person that has confessed has to have a lawyer even when he has confessed. That seems i***tic it only put money in the pockets of lawyers and makes the cost for the trial cost so much more than it should. When evidence is so overwhelming there should be a judge and a jury to hear the evidence and then make a decision on what the punishment should be. End of story!

You ought to look for more documentation than one news source. I have read many news articles that say he was in the country illegally. Oh, I forgot you seem to be for open borders.

You have no idea what I am for..

My post is now dated.. the bond has been raised to 5 million..

was a meme that the Des moines registers had found that the k**ler was a legal.. can not find anything more about that, so it may not be correct..

A court document filed Wednesday morning states that the man accused of k*****g Mollie Tibbetts was working legally in Iowa, contradicting authorities' contention that he is an undocumented immigrant.

But officials at the Iowa dairy farm where the suspect worked offered information Wednesday afternoon that undermines the document's claim.

And U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman Shawn Neudauer said Thursday that "law enforcement remains absolutely confident that we’ve correctly identified the suspect as an i*****l a***n from Mexico, based both on investigative interviews with him and on records checks."

Cristhian Bahena Rivera, 24, was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in the July 18 disappearance of Tibbetts, a University of Iowa student whose abduction has captured national headlines.

The government is incorrectly promoting the idea that Rivera is not in Iowa legally, attorney Allen Richards of Tama said in a court document asking for a gag order in the case.

"Sad and sorry Trump has weighed in on this matter in national media which will poison the entire possible pool of jury members," Richards wrote, referencing a statement from the president citing Tibbetts' death as an example why "i*********n l*ws are such a disgrace."

Yes, his bond has been raised to 5 mil... and as a cold blooded murderer, I also hope he rots in prison..

I think the farm he worked for did say they E-verified him.. He is not eligible for DACA in any way so why would he have applied?

His employer said he did not E-verify him.

Are you calling trump a POS??

then it seems you are talking about the k**ler in Iowa.. If so, it seems that he is guilty and the trial will be a slam dunk..

If so, he will indeed spend the rest of his life, or at least any meaningful part of it, in prison..

reread you first line.... did you think I said trump running off at the mouth would make people less able to find the proper verdict??

If so, That is not what I meant.. depending on what trump ran his mouth about, the defense lawyer may claim that any words from the president could sway the outcome of the jury if this goes the route.

then the lawyer will still have to convince the Jury/judge.. But it is a possible strategy for the defense lawyer..

Come on,Permy...There is NOTHING to sway....He confessed to a murder......Its a slam dunk case...It should last only one day at most!!!.....And jury should come with guilty verdict on day 2!!!Thats it!!!..This trial shouldnt d**g out for days like with Kate Steinle....But thats just my opinion...
