People Who Believe Q***n Type Conspiracy Theories Are Conditioned To Believe Things A Certain Way
I need to look for the article I was reading so I can use the actual clinical name that this type of thought processing has.
I was reading an interesting article that was talking about the mindset of people who believe the really unhinged category of conspiracy theories. It was saying that the science of how the mind works and why is what determines if a person is susceptable to the crazy unhinged sort of conspiracy concepts.
This article gave an example of the kind of conditioning they are talking about. Say a kid is wanting to know why the sun comes up in the morning, or better what makes the sun come up? The real answer has to do with the earth revolving around the sun to where half the earth is exposed and half is shaded. The answer that conditions people to accept alternative realities that are actually not based on reality would be that god makes it come up in the morning so we have light. The real fact based answer triggers a whole wave of related questions, sparking an interest in other things. The false narrative creates an acceptance of beliefs rather than facts that are being told to them.
Frankly, this makes sense, although I can see those who fall prey to unhinged beliefs in things that don't make sense taking exception to this explanation.
