If you're able to think clearly you need too about what you're proposing. It's a bad idea but the crooks would like though.

Please explain how this would be a bad idea. Seems to me it would greatly decrease loopholes thereby increasing income. Everyone would have "skin" in the game and everyone would know what their tax burden would be. Set the rate at wh**ever you want, as long as everyone pays the same rate - everyone.

I guess you have been retired too long and have paid no heed to the numerous proposals and discussions that have occurred nationally over the last several years. A Fair Tax would essentially be a consumption tax whereby everyone pays a tax on everything they buy. This means even all those i*****l a***ns who don't pay taxes now would pay their fair share. This will eliminate the IRS because we would no longer be filing income tax returns. There have been several books written on this subject so I suggest that you get off your duff and go down to a local library and do some reading.

Take your blinders off - Who cares who would complain the most. Totally an income based issue what ever the rate, send in your part based on income, total income. No deducts, no loopholes, no nothing.

You may not have been retired long, but it seems that senility and general grumpiness have overcame logic and common sense.

You seem to be confusing the upkeep of this country with the maintenance of entitlement programs. If that is the issue, then yes, I am tired of paying for those who have no desire to contribute to their own welfare.
