A new poll of Americans suggests that we had better confirm Supreme Court Justices who know and respect the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, because if they take away our rights, too many Americans won’t even realize it.
A
survey by the Freedom Forum found that when asked to name the rights guaranteed by the First Amendment, just 56 percent of Americans could name freedom of speech, and it got even more depressing from there. Only 15 percent knew it protected freedom of religion (that probably doesn’t include some federal judges), 13 percent could name freedom of the press, 12 percent knew freedom of assembly, and a pitiful 2 percent knew that it guaranteed the right to petition the government for redress of grievances.
Only percent of Americans could name four out of the five rights guaranteed by the First Amendment (or six, if you count as two the freedom from government imposition of a religion and the freedom from government interference in the practice of your religion – a lot of people seem to know the former, but not the latter.) Nine percent thought the right to bear arms (Second Amendment) was in the First. Two percent thought it guaranteed the right to v**e. And a shocking 40 percent of Americans couldn’t name a single one of their First Amendment rights.
Not surprisingly, the survey also found that the more respondents knew about their rights, the less likely they were to support more government restrictions on them. I would add that it’s also not surprising to learn that the rise in support for “Democratic” socialism has been accompanied by a huge rise in ignorance of the Constitutional rights of individuals.

People are not required to be proficient in school, apparently.
I went to college at 44 after getting out of prison. What I discovered was
my high school education was better than their college education. Sad.
Just completed 3 college courses (just for myself) and was amazed at how easy they were, they included electronics math, robotics and robotics math. Now granted I worked in robotics for 6 years but didn't have any schooling. All of these courses were designed for the 3rd year of college, counselor said try it and if too difficult he'd drop me back to freshmen years. I swear I knew more than those teaching.

I had 18 credits after my placement test. Easy.
Am done, it's a waste of time plus I'm hardly looking for a job!

I have no need of additional money. We are about 75% self sufficient here on the tree farm.

The Constitution is just words on a piece of paper to the stupid and we have more than our share of stupid. The democrats have proved that over and over again. Genocide has it's good points.
Always looking for additional money. One never knows what will happen in the days to come.

I have to be a full time caregiver to my Ma, so I need a little extra dough. Maybe I should try my hand at raising truffles or something.
Haven't done that since the mid 70's, 4 figure lid for 10 bucks delivered.
