These should not be confused with the relatively new "Take A Knee Chant"

Take a knee chant is only allowed for black professional multi millionaire football players who feel bad about the way the cops mistreat them.

Even the original version you posted reads, "...the Republic for which it stands." so it couldn't have been used for any country. Their Wolf Chant they said they were working on it. So far what they say they want in it does not sound like things which promote allegiance to our country. But rather they sound like they want togetherness. So I disagree with your suggestion to relax.

JoyV I only posted what was written, "any" does not mean... all...comprendo... it also read that he had hoped, feel free to read the post: http://www.ushistory.org/documents/pledge.htm

It looked as if they were getting ready for a football game or something. I would much prefer my child would learn and recite the pledge of allegiance as to this chant. I would also approve of the star spangled banner as well.

Thanks Morgan. If by the word, "all" you are refering to its use in the pledge, it is only found at the end. "...with liberty and justice to all." But if you mean I should have said all countries instead of any country, the point is even more dramatically made. If Frances Bellamy wanted this pledge to be for ALL (instead of ANY) country; the use of the words, "...and the republic for which it stands..." fits even less.

In any case, I am opposed to foregoing starting the school day with the Pledge of Allegiance. Any student can choose to sit it out. But that many do should be a reason to eliminate it. Instead including American History (not to the exclusion of world history) and Civics may actually cause some students to rethink why they want to sit out the pledge. If not, it certainly can't hurt. To tell the kids that they can dictate the rules; is a mistake even if it weren't for something so fundamental to our country.

Just the complete opposite Dave, just because something is new, does not mean it is anti of what was, but rather be more inclusive for all.

One nation with Liberty and justice for all. Does the word all still mean all inclusive?

School Cancels Daily Pledge of Allegiance for Something More ‘Positive’

An Atlanta, Georgia, charter school is starting its second week of the new school year by stopping the daily recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

In a Tuesday statement, Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School revealed the pledge will be replaced with the more inclusive “Wolf Pack Chant.”

School Cancels Daily Pledge of Allegiance for Some... (show quote)

sounds about right Salty
our schools are hell bent on making all our children dependent on free handouts from the government
including free education(through college)
free health care (for life)
equal pay for unequal jobs and professions

sure glad I don't have that much time left
I don't wanna see this country become a third class country

This is something completely different, some super chant, BTW do they look like elementary kids to you, are you trying to mislead people? I would like to know the actual words of the elementary school before passing judgments.

I noticed the chant or its words weren't included in the Fox article. Maybe it is better, how do we know? But a little history...

The Pledge of Allegiance was written in August 1892 by the socialist minister Francis Bellamy (1855-1931). It was originally published in The Youth's Companion on September 8, 1892. Bellamy had hoped that the pledge would be used by citizens in any country.

In its original form it read:

"I pledge allegiance to my F**g and the Republic for jwhich it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
Baloney. What kind of teacher would go along with this malarkey. Like Linda, I’d pull my kids out of such a school.
In 1923, the words, "the F**g of the United States of America" was added and it wasn't until 1954 "under God" was added. So relax, were were fine before this and will be fine afterwards.

I think it's a great topic for the kids in school to discuss, why are people taking a knee and are we at a time to add some verses.. what would they add if they could to promote peace and harmony? But to re-pledge your allegiance every day seems a bit redundant and cultish to me... over the top. I'd rather have them sing God Bless America or America the Beautiful, once you've made your pledge, you should be good to go.

It was my understanding, he tried to write it for it to be open to any country to use if they so chose to. In mentioning a republic, he did scale down those choices, maybe that didn't occur to him or maybe he thought they'd implement their own substitutions, who knows.
