This is appalling that the party that supposedly has all of the regard for the constitution would let Trump have the power to shut down the media that he says is f**e news...
This is straight out of dictatorship 101, how to be a dictator. This is one of the most fundamental things that separates a democracy and free people from authoritarian dictatorships. The president/dictator does not get to decide which news sources they approve of.
I can't believe a question like this can be asked with a straight face, but then the party of patriotic supporters of the constitution is ignorantly willing to give this power away to a president?
This can be put in a context that would horrify the right, chill them to the bone. Let's say the left that supported Obama had felt it was okay to give Obama this right, and he could shut down FOX, Rush Limbaugh, Alex Jones, Breitbart. Look at the about face on whether it's okay for a democratic president to have the power to decide which news sources they approve of, and shut down those they think are f**e news.

What dems have supported the idea of is having a standard of t***h in media, being able to fact check and prove that which the public is presented with to be factual. Standards applied to all news outlets equally are not similar in any way from Trump being able to shut the media he decides is f**e down.

Just as Ma Bell was broken up into the Seven Dwarves these news cartels need to have some of the restraints, which were lifted, reimposed such as no one entity owning more than one form of media in a market area.
