On another forum one of our members, who I perceive to be a Native American, stated the following:

"While you are at it, why not ask any of my people what they think about immigration?"

So, I ask our site members who are Native American, what do you think on immigration?

1/4 Cherokee, and I feel that, as my ancestors allowed Europe's dregs and trash (the winners stayed in Europe) to settle here, we modern Americans should, as well, welcome those looking for a better life.

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand

Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command

The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she

With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!
"

I am descended from the eastern band of Tsalagihi Ayeli, Cherokee. My great great grandmother was an orphaned descendent of "Longstrider " listed on the Dawes commission rolls as, Bill Franklin. Cherokee philosophy is based on harmonious coexistence with all humans, and the term " duyuktv " is expressed as " the right way ". This philosophy would not consider any human to be illegal, nor would the term " immigrant " be used to describe a fellow human no matter his ethnic origins.

I, however, am a rebellious spirit. And when I am reminded of the past atrocities perpetrated by the united states government, upon the civilized nations, it is NOT the Hispanic tribes that I refer to as " i*****l i*******ts ".

Part Blackfoot Sioux: Immigration is one thing, invasion is another. Immigrants enter legally through the existing system, check your dictionary. Almost all the Mexicans here came in as wetbacks, sneaking in. They are not immigrants. They are aliens.

The old argument about Europeans taking the land doesn't fly. The people already here fought wars over the land and k**led each other for it. That's the way of Mankind. But they did it face to face, for the most part, and the deaths in war were honorable, at least. What honor is there in sneaking in and taking away someone's living and the places they lived? None.

Against my better judgement I'm venturing a response to this little diatribe.

The people living here before Europeans came committed constant atrocities on one another. They warred and slaughtered over land usage, they tortured each other, they were often brutal and cruel. You need to get with history instead of carrying a load of hatred against white people like American b****s do. No one alive today had anything to do with the Indian Wars. Okay? Try to digest that fact and show some semblance of both honesty and awareness of present reality.

Do feel free to call me any demon name you currently favor.

Actually, quite a few Hispanics were here, in what is now the US, long before your European ancestors arrived...

Look up Balboa, Cortez, Ponce de León, Francisco Vázquez de C****ado, etc. and note the dates.

Ah, the "White trash apologist" ploy...kinda wondered when the 1st would arrive to this thread.

You forgot to use the term "Manifest destiny", too.

Your judgement may be a little impaired which is forgivable; that aside you are indeed courageous to even attempt to address this blatant, inbred stupidity...

This philosophy would not consider any human to be illegal, nor would the term " immigrant " be used to describe a fellow human no matter his ethnic origins.

This is one of the aspects I found some Native Americans , more evolved, which includes up to today. Will people ever get this?

You and I seem to running into each other this PM.

My neighborhood is very small; however, quite diverse. The families who came to our country, utilizing all legal methods, are totally outraged over the immigration propositions currently put forth. We, in fact, have two families who have knowledge of individuals, from their country of origin, who are in a waiting pattern to come here, yet others who did not "do it the right" way are being offered everything, as these families perceive it.

Terry Allan Hall we do welcome all who are looking for a better life. Are you from one of those Europe's dregs and trash? I guess I am as my family came from Norway and many parts of Europe.

Nothing in my response to the question posed by by the author of this post actually indicates hatred for the entire race of Caucasians. I did, however, state my grievances against the united states government. This grievance is explicit to the long deceased former president Andrew Jackson and his decisions regarding the removal of the civilized nations from their lands. As for the " present reality ", of which you suggest I should exercise awareness of, I also nurture grievances against the current administration of which is headed by a non-caucasion. And those grievances, which are of an entirely different nature, are not based upon hatred. You are t***hful in your statement concerning the barbaric behaviors of the warring tribes during the pre-European era, but I do not believe that this fact was pertinent to the initial topic. As for my previous act of associating you with the demonic realm, I was mistaken and I ask that you do not hold a grievance towards me hence forth. I have examined many of your posts and find that you are credible.
