Many VA centers are near and share doctors with local hospitals.
I know that well. I just had an operation on a toe and a surgeon that was moving from hospital to hospital. He was good. When I went in for a checkup on the toe another doctor told me I would have to have it amputated and set for me to come in the following Tues.. My surgeon was there at that time and didn't think I needed that operation. After checking with the main surgeon in podiatry he confirmed his decision not to operate. As always there are good doctors and then there are doctors that are not proficient at their position.
