This sums up the battle for me.

If my child was reaching for a pan of hot grease on the stove, I would snatch his hand and deliver a sharp swat to his bottom, and yell no, not because I h**e him but because I love him. He may cry for a few minutes but he won't need skin grafts and I would hold him until he was okay. Then I would hold his hand over the hot pan so he could feel the heat and say hot and pull his hand back until he understood the lesson. Libs would probably call it child abuse and call the child snatchers. It's how their brains work.
