RENEE MONTAGNE, HOST:
It is no secret that Republicans are not fans of the Affordable Care Act. Last year, they tried and failed to repeal the health care law. And ever since, they've been carving away at it piece by piece. Last December, Congress eliminated the penalty for not having health insurance, effectively getting rid of the mandate that many Republicans despised. And in the spring, President Trump issued new rules making it easier for people to buy cheaper insurance that covers fewer health care services. And now this month, the administration has gone even further. Here to tell us all about it is NPR's Alison Kodjak. Good morning.

Any program that covers preexisting conditions is doomed to failure.

They’ll never get it. Once you cover pre-existing it’s not insurance. Insurance guards against risk. If everyone and everything is covered where’s the risk? No way that’s economically feasible under insurance. First off let the private sector work. Take out all the govt. interference. Some offices spend as much on administration as they do doctors.
Cover pre existing the only way it can be cost effective. Let each State set a tax that goes into high risk life threatening pools. Said pool can only be used for the specified population identified. Insurance for those of us halfway healthy would go down.

Considering there are 52 million American citizens with pre existing conditions or 1 in 4 … we as a people are doomed if it's going to be all about insurance company profits... profits over the people is nothing but Plutocratic corporate f*****m in America...

Start cutting into ludicrous healthcare system profits such as pharmaceutical costs and applying them to doctors, cut into administration costs in the for profit industries.

NO take care of those people with a separate gov't program and get the hell out of my health insurance. We as conservatives believe in helping those in TRUE need, but being lazy or an underachiever does not meet the criteria of people in need. There is a difference between need and want, if you need it, work for it and if you want it work for it !!!!!!

You don't know that. There are several ways that the U.S. can collect money such as when they send their dollors to Mexico, an instant charge, bridge border crossings, the well to do Mexicans put their big amounts in U.S. banks because the peso has a bad history of devaluation. ect. ect.
