Germany should be buying it from the United States at a higher price, that's what friends are for.

American natural gas owners should look at the bottom line. Money is great but profit is not the bottom line.
Match the Russians price or even sell a bit lower like the gas wars in the 1970's it stabilized gas prices for years.
Russia's hurting for income so hurt them more by lower income on their natural gas income.

Not the point............why should we help empower the source of the threat that NATO is supposed to counter?

At first I wanted to post a reply.
Had second thoughts.
It is things like this that tells me the world is becoming more screwed up every day.
It goes against the best principals of international trade.
The price that would be paid for inefficiency in a deal like that is a waste.
The extra cost alone to ship the gas by boat. will be made up in an other way .
More than likely with a cost increase on gas in this country.
There is such a contrast to logic on a site like this.
Compared to what I see in the world around my personal life.
Where ever I go i seem to see: KIND, CARING & UNDERSTANDING PEOPLE.
Every one has it with in them self to be that way.
What is stopping that from happening?

You do realize that we aren't going to build a pipeline to Germany? That the LNG has to be t***sported by ship, thus increasing it's cost by 25%?
Tell me, oh great business person, which makes more sense - buying cheap or buying expensive?

Merkel just made Germany a "Russian dependency", what a great way to negotiated from a position of weakness.
Wait until some frigid Jan. morning, when Russia sends them a shut-off notice.
Russia is paving the way to a total takeover of Ukraine. Then the EU will once again stand down, and then blame the U.S.!
NATO countries have clearly demonstrated how much they value the little freedom that they have left.

You need to get out of your little safe world and see the REAL world. It's dog eat dog, survival of the fittest be apart of it or get left out in the cold.

Why isn't Germany buying it from Burisma, Ukraine's largest privately owned oil and gas company? Which right after the US instigated and financed a c**pe in 2014, o*******wing their Russian friendly, democratically elected president and installing a US puppet for president, Burisma appointed then VP Joe (touchy, feely)Biden's son H****r to the board and as legal counsel. Or, was that merely a coincidence?

Sometimes one needs to decode the message...When will it ever occur to some that co-operation could mean more for everyone.

I don't know much a bout your world.
In my world there are lots of loving caring people.
How can that be.
We are not near neighbors,
We do live in the same country though.
How can it be so different?
Or is life truly in the eye of the beholder.
We see life as we want to see it.
Yes life for all of us can be what we want to see if we would truly open our eyes.
Then act on it.
We live in a world where some glasses are empty.
While some over flow.
How hard would that be to see that all glasses never over flowed on became empty.
