Childhood make believe

I can still remember getting my first cap gun. It was modeled after my heroes gun, James West ( Robert Conrad ) from the Wild West series. Whole armies of desperado's and bandito's met their maker after meeting my trusty six shooter. My friends and I had more shoot outs than baths back then. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I knew this was all make believe, but right then, in that moment, it was as real - as the whoopin I was gonna get for not doing my chores while I chased down bank robbers and filled them full of lead. I am heartened to see that some adults can still create make believe worlds to live in.

Some folks believe that banning firearms will make humans stop k*****g each other - even though the very first humans ( Adam and Eve ) and their children, introduced murder at the very beginning. Apparently a rock is as effective as a bullet, it might take more effort, but where there's a will - there's a way.

Some folks believe that banning non b****s from using the word n****r, makes them less black, or is it more white? I don't know, but it seems to me, that if the word "n****r" pops up in your mind when you see a black person, nothing much has changed. I suppose, to be fair, that if b****s can call each other n****rs but w****s can't, they've gotten one over on w****s. If it makes them feel better...............

Some folks believe that Donald Trump knows what he's doing. Although he has had more ventures fail than succeed, he's the worlds best business dude. Never being involved in, or concerned about, world affairs for 70 years, he developed nearly divine insight into those issues mere months after announcing his candidacy. To be fair, he has convinced himself that he knows more than anyone else on the planet about, well, everything, so those folks that believe it too must be proud. I'm trying to figure out how the United States ever managed to make it to it's 242 birthday, without the brilliant Donald Trump's help.

Some folks believe that if we just place a liberal or conservative overlay on the Constitution, all our problems will be solved, even though we've been doing that for over 240 years already. Studying American history seems to indicate that neither overlay has ever worked, even after repeated efforts all these years. I don't know, lets' give er another go.............maybe the 200th time will be the charm. I'm still trying to figure out how America ever survived long enough for the two main parties to get themselves put in power and fix everything. To me, it seems that those two parties efforts would be more effective................applied on our enemies...........but that's just me.

As I said, it's a hopeful sign to see that many Americans can still find their way to fantasy land. I could sleep better at night better as a child, knowing that I had cleared my neighborhood of every low down yellow bellied skunk, every bad hombre and every desperado - and knowing that they'd be back the next day. Damn, I wish I was a kid again.

Almost all black people that I know are black or Negro, none are n****rs. N****r is a state of mind, a behavior pattern, not a color or ethnicity. There are black n****rs white n****rs, and brown n****rs. All are people I choose not to know, and that should be my right, it is the form of discrimination that is part of choosing my friends and I have no intention of changing it.

You left out one other group known as white wannabe n****rs. They are well known on OPP. Kevy, Rumi, Salty, Bad Bob, lone wolf, etc! You get my drift.

You can be a kid again Don, you just did it, and made me a kid again too. It's called remembering. I had one of those sawed-off "Wanted Dead or Alive" rifles that fired white plastic bullets and my brother had a belt buckle with a derringer that popped out and fired a cap when you pushed the release on the top of the buckle. You wouldn't have made to high noon in my town sodbuster.
