That bottom meme is really misleading. Medicare and Medicaid ate two completely separate things. Medicare is for retirees and the disabled, and, at least in the case of retirees, has a monthly premium attached to it. It covers very little and you are left with big medical bills after any treatment. Medicare has no dental or vision coverage and is, frankly, a crap insurance policy. Medicaid is for those not working but capable of same. It has NO premium attached to it, and covers dental and vision. There is no copay or balance left for the recipient to pay after treatment. Sorry, that meme embodies democrat conflation.

Thank you Tom. Now here we are. I really don't think Bernie could have beat him, but he was robbed of his chance to try.
Absolutely agree with you. He lost his chance to try and I believe he could have been the nominee. Bernie wanted and still wants to be a benefit to the people which some folks think is not do-able. Trump is a Billionaire buisnessman and people respected that and his drive.. well The Donald won. We get to decide all over again in 2020.The DNC better have some ethics this next go round if they want to win an e******n.

I think he most certainly would have been the nominee and I think the hag stole a lot of donations from other candidates.

If Democrats are wise, they will embrace President Donald Trump’s demonstration that there no longer are any unwritten rules in American politics. (I’ve come to think that the key text for understanding our era is the 1997 movie Air Bud: “There’s no rule that says a dog can’t play basketball.”) Democrats should be preparing to exercise power, beginning as early as 2020, with that lesson in mind. As we all know, Trump and the Republican Party that enables him eat norms for breakfast. A norm is a tacit and mutual agreement that certain exercises of power, while lawful, also are unthinkable. As a result, a willingness to think the unthinkable is itself a source of power. With that willingness, you ...

Probably 80 % of those on the state's Medicaid program are i******s anyway so it is in our best interest to cancel those benefits and save the American taxpayer a load of money.

If you buy a straight Plan F supplement along with your Medicare "A" & "B" you end up with no copays --- no deductibles ---- and no out of pocket expenses. The insurance companies are phasing this plan out in 2019 and only if you are already in it will you have this plan. In other words grandfathered in. Any other sulpplement plans cost you out of pocket and co-pays. All insurance companies want you in an HMO so that they can tell you what doctor to go to. With "A" & "B" & "F" you can go to any doctor that takes medicare and any specialists without being referred by a doctor. You can also travel and go to any doctor where ever you are without having to call your insurance company. Also you can go to the emergency room without incuring any out of pocket. Been there done that. Everyone on medicare needs to look into this soon.

You better do some rechecking... Medicare pays the majority of nearly all medical expenses for us old geezers.. Normally 80% of everything.. then also additional insurance available only to those on Medicare and while I have
have 100s of 1000, in Medical procedures.. My expense has been only pocket change..

Medicare is the best health program this Nation has ever had. Far more efficient cost wise that any other insurance in the country.. Wonderful program. even as we pay premiums we are gaining far more then we spend..

While the drug program (part D) was not done very well, it is still very worthwhile.. No dental/vision.. I do wish these were covered..

Vision... My exams, limited amount for glasses and all real surgery are covered, the vision business, like the rest of the for profit medical industry is out of control and glasses costing over $500 are common..

Dental needs to be covered..

President Obama and other Democrats worked to make these improvements, but the GOP congress blocked every attempt..

Deflection perm. What was in the meme were pics of seniors saying don't mess with their Medicare and social security. The issue was Medicaid people being required to work/contribute in some way. And I stand by what I said about Medicare. If you can't afford the EXTRA premium for supplental insurance it's crap.

For sure! I recently went in for a wellness exam and was billed by my provider, because it was coded as a physical exam Medicare didn’t cover it. Human error caused me to pay $360.00 Medicare doesn’t cover “physicals” or preventative measures, they would rather you get very ill and require more care! Great plan, I don’t think so. I would be better off on the welfare train.

I believe that Medicaid is for people with no other recourse for health care.. It makes little sense that a person needing life saving care who has not insurance, must have a job or we drop him in the ditch..

If he had a job, he would have at least some form of insurance..

SO you think that Medicare sucks.. I think it is the best program our nation has..

If Medicare sucks, what would you feel was a good alternative??

Preventive visit & yearly wellness exams
How often is it covered?
Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers:

A "Welcome to Medicare" preventive visit: You can get this visit only within the first 12 months you have Part B. This visit includes a review of your medical and social history related to your health and education and counseling about preventive services, including these:
Certain screenings, shots, and referrals for other care, if needed
Height, weight, and blood pressure measurements
A calculation of your body mass index
A simple vision test
A review of your potential risk for depression and your level of safety
An offer to talk with you about creating advance directives.
A written plan letting you know which screenings, shots, and other preventive services you need. Get details about coverage for screenings, shots, and other preventive services.
This visit is covered one time. You don’t need to have this visit to be covered for yearly "Wellness" visits.

Yearly "Wellness" visits: If you've had Part B for longer than 12 months, you can get this visit to develop or update a personalized prevention help plan. This plan is designed to help prevent disease and disability based on your current health and risk factors. Your provider will ask you to fill out a questionnaire, called a “Health Risk Assessment,” as part of this visit. Answering these questions can help you and your provider develop a personalized prevention plan to help you stay healthy and get the most out of your visit. It can also include:
A review of your medical and family history
Developing or updating a list of current providers and prescriptions
Height, weight, blood pressure, and other routine measurements
Detection of any cognitive impairment
Personalized health advice
A list of risk factors and treatment options for you
A screening schedule (like a checklist) for appropriate preventive services. Get details about coverage for screenings, shots, and other preventive services.
Advance care planning
This visit is covered once every 12 months.

Who's eligible?
All people with Part B are covered.

Your costs in Original Medicare
You pay nothing for the “Welcome to Medicare” preventive visit or the yearly “Wellness” visit if your doctor or other qualified health care provider accepts assignment. The Part B deductible doesn’t apply.
