Makes sense doesn't it? Besides keep out the drug dealers, human traffickers, terrorists that want to cause you harm, they are protecting these children. And the Left wants to stop all this immediately. Kerstin Guillbrand and her Dem buddies are calling for the end of ICE in all forms. Open borders and let them pile in! Obviously this will have a bad effect on this country. Actually, you can get rid of all of Home Land Security. The argument at the time, made by conservatives, was that it just added another layer of unnecessary government to jobs that were already being performed by other government agencies. With ICE you had the border patrol, the FBI, the secret service, and the ATF doing the job whereas today they are a department 20,000 strong with their own mandate and aren't required to report to congress--the only such department in government not required to do so.
There was a time conservatives would be outraged at the unnecessary growth in government but it seems Trump has done such a through job of scaring the s**t out of you that you will except any growth in government so long as you are conned into thinking you are safer at night!
