He is no longer leaving any room to defend him. His lies are just reckless and blatant, easily disprovable--unless as a devout follower you have your head dutifully buried in the sand. Even then the vibrations of his careless disregard for t***h and decency would cause a discernible rumble to keep that head as is. He counts on his supporters to be half-wits or less, or ardent White Nationalists and Neo-N**is who just want to make America White again, or hand-wringing pale-faced Evangelicals looking to make America Christian again, or very crafty autocrat-loving types to make America...different. Could it be...the Illuminati? I'll wait for the movie.

He no longer makes any attempt to cover for his previous comments, such as blaming "f**e news" for bad or dishonest reporting. He knows people like you will rush to his defense no matter he says or does. I have never once bashed Trimp: he did that all to himself by his words and actions. I just relayed the results.
