It was once the law passed by the Republicans and FORCED President Clinton to work with a balanced budget.

The first one since world war two. Once the socialist Democrats got control the first thing they did was repeal the balance budget act.

Since then I has been spend, spend, spend, spend and it has not stopped YET.

Ya...lot's of things work for a little while.

I am not trying to be nasty but I really see some kind of socialist talking when they talk about SS, Medicare, highways and public schools as if they were bad and wrong. I will have to say that I don't see you as anything but some kind of socialist from that talk. You surely aren't old enough to be on SS yet and that makes you too young to be collecting Medicare. You talk about those things as if they were socialist programs. I paid into Social Security from the time I was 12 years old so I don't see it as socialist except that FDR pushed it along with all kinds of other socialist programs. Those programs were necessary, at the time, and couldn't have worked the way SS has. For instance, CCC and other working programs for men without jobs that couldn't force men to pay into it in order to collect.

I take it that you don't know much about Medicare in that you don't know who pays into it and for how long. I paid into Medicare from its inception and am still having just over $100 monthly through deductions from my SS check. Yep, both programs do appear to be nothing but socialist programs but each of us pays into it for life. It sure is handy to have around though like when you have to have serious surgeries to stay around.

What would our nation be like if we didn't have the highway system we have? There would be very little trade as we know it and so much would be seriously different. I don't think some people really understand socialism but do like to use the examples you do.
I am not trying to be nasty but I really see some ... (show quote)

All-or-nothing. It's an annoying and obvious tactic. Makes me sleepy.

But that is what all the Gov't h**ers are doing. If we only had no Gov't is what they are saying. Like any other institution, when it gets too big and powerful, it has to be controlled, but not eliminated. If all Gov't is evil and should be eliminated, how did America get to be as good as it is? You want to begin reigning in Big Gov';t stop big Political Spending, where the rich can control the thing most Politicians crave--ree******n.

Why am I pigeonholed into this all-or-nothing crap?

That's a dope-fiend way of thinking...makes a s***e of a person who does it. No thanks...I'll take t***h (government by its nature is intrusive and to be mistrusted) and pragmatism (ours is the best so far and worth fighting for to keep) over shrill, emo, limited thinking any day of the week and will prove it by what I do as long as I'm above ground.

Let me say that I have always known the definition of comprehensive. Politicians, especially RINOs and liberals, have always seen that word as necessary to immigration since taking in all the meanings allows them to do what they want got go, to gain as many v**es as possible.

Re-e******n is surely just what you call it.
