Is everyone correct or is every one wrong?

Well I would think that all will agree that there is at least two sides to each issue.

So I will say that there is two sides to this issue also.

It may just as well be said that everyone is wrong.

What are we missing here?

Why are we so divided. It can't be because we are so different because we are more alike than different.

Why is the things that divide us are viewed as more important than what holds us together.

Surely we as humans have reached this point in time by having done more to bring our self together than to drive us truly apart.

Where does the force that divides us come from.

Is it internal or are there external forces at play here.

Who really gains by driving us apart.

Surely it is not those like us here on this forum.

Are there some that gain from our being divided.

I for one find we are gaining nothing from our being increasingly more divided. We are just worse off because of it.

Many of us here have reached a point in life where we won't be deeply harmed by changes that will come about. No will changes do much to make our lives better.

Many bring up the issue of what are we leaving for our children.

Well I say that the best we can do for those that come after us is to show them the way to live life with out h**e & greed.

Reminds me of high school clicks only meaner-nasties. Ever since the Gore/Bush dance this country has been quite divided and it's mostly because of today's politician. Have noticed several from both sides dropping out, could it be they don't want to part of this foolishness and would rather get on with their lives as normal citizens?

We are divided because people are suffering while a solution to our problems is at hand but fools are blindly prejudiced against the solution. The wise and the foolish will always be divided.

For centuries, b****s suffered from s***ery. To end the suffering, it was only necessary to end s***ery with a simple law. But fools forced us to fight a terrible Civil War and endure Jim Crow and segregation and prejudice. And why the hell give them 40 acres and a mule?

It's far more than black and white.

Yes, just as it was then. The 's***ery" issue was convenient, but hardly the cause of the civil war. How do you get " us against them" started? By picking emotional issues to front the war and work your trickery while everyone else is involved in that. It works extremely well today. Getting "anti a******n" to fund a campaign, while promising to ease corporate taxes if elected. Or promising universal health care and giving oil and gas companies cart blanch.

Besides, it's easier to convince folk that the other guy is wrong, than it is to prove that you're right. Waiting for something to fail is not as effective as convincing folk that it WILL fail. Coming up with a better idea is harder work than trying to convince folk that the other guy's idea is bad. Now it's, as you said, like high school, where you're against anything the other side does or says, JUST because it's the other side. Even when you agree ( secretly ), you're against it, because if you're not - you're out of the clic and they won't let you play with them anymore.

Yes, it isn't really color. It's the need to find somebody who can be forced to work all day in the hot son for just enough miserable food and board to go on working. It's a form of profit maximization.

The interesting thing is that the profit maximizers are sure they are noble and their victims are base.

It's also the need to be stationed in life above "X", where X = any designated "other". Color is one determinant. Sexual orientation is another. Religion often works.
