Graham did not try to do what Trump has done repeatedly: blame Democrats for a non-existent law as the cause. He went to the source of this problem: Trump.

Evangelist Franklin Graham, a staunch backer of President Donald Trump, has denounced a new Trump administration policy that separates immigrant parents from their children at the U.S. border.

“It’s disgraceful, and it’s terrible to see families ripped apart and I don’t support that one bit,” Graham, son of the famous evangelist Billy Graham, told the Christian Broadcasting Network on Tuesday.

“I blame politicians for the last 20, 30 years that have allowed this to escalate to the point where it is today,” Graham added. “We are a country of a laws, laws need to be obeyed, no question about that, but the situation we have today as a result of our lawmakers in Washington over generations ignoring this.”

Cardinal Daniel N. DiNardo, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, on Wednesday slammed the Trump administration policy as “immoral.”

Attorney General Jeff Sessions last month rolled out the “zero tolerance” policy, which justifies separating children from their parents in order to prosecute immigrants who cross the border illegally. He argued the new measures will cut down on the number of people attempting to make the journey.

“The world will know what our rules are, and great numbers will no longer undertake this dangerous journey,” Sessions said earlier this week. “The number of i*****l a***ns and the number of baseless claims will fall. I’m confident that’s true. A virtuous cycle will be created, rather than a vicious cycle of expanding illegality.”

Almost 1,800 immigrant families were separated at the border from October 2016 to February 2018, according to a senior government official. Parents often aren’t told where their kids were taken.

Graham gave a Bible reading at Trump’s inauguration and has firmly defended him as president ― even against persistent allegations of sexual misconduct.

Perhaps we all need to take a step back, figure out the root of the problem. Why is it that years the i******s trespassers stayed pretty much level. They came, they took as much as they could and then they went home. The issue was Mexico's migrant workers. Most Americans tolerated this. After all, they came and worked the planting and harvest seasons, and they came during round up. Yes, they were paid, mainly under the table and some of them just stayed. They learned English, married, had children.... pretty much what our forefathers did. They migrated and assimilated. Then something happened, no longer were there t***sit farm workers who occasionally stayed. Now the problem became Central Americans who demands entry into the US as citizens. So what happened around or about Spring of 2000? Was this a strategically planned change to the demographics of the USA? All of the current tsunami of humans can not be blamed on CAM (Jeh Johnson and Obama), but when you introduce a parole and amnesty program to Central America.... could you expect less?

I know for certain that war, violence and blood shed in Central America dates well before 2010.... before 1970, and even before that. The nations in question has wars among themselves as far back as recorded history. Consider this, El Salvador, began a civil war in 1980 and that ended in 1992. During that time El Salvadorian people were subjected to death squads and massacres by their government. Was there mass migration to the USA... no. As for Guatemala, last year the social anthropologist Irma Alicia Velasquez Nimatuj, a member of the K´iche´ ethnic group, published an Op-Ed in the New York Times making clear that the inequalities in her country “were exacerbated in 1954 when the United States, in the name of antic*******m and in the defense corporate interests of the United Fruit Company, helped depose the democratic government of Jacobo Arbenz Guzmán.”
Was there mass migrations to the USA during that time... no. So.... what changed..... they are still k*****g each other, the governments are still sending out death squads.... so, one has to see this logically. What happened recently, what is new?? It is not that the USA has stopped meddling in their nations. It is not that the USA stopped sending them aid. I gave you the statistics in grafts.... the swarm began at the end President Bush Jr.'s term in office, and steadily grew under obama. Jeh Johnson visited these nations and gave a very clear message.... and the flow increased immediately.....

And what changed with Obama? Call it a door or a window, but best called hope. Someone appeared to actually care.

Indeed, what happened with obama? He did change America.....his actions resulted in what is going on with these children.... is that a good thing? Most of these people will be returned to their own nation..... give them hope to have it taken away.... how is that showing compassion? To me, he set these people up for disappointment and as future enemies.

Reminds me ".... the trains were packed, standing room only. If someone fell, they could not get back up, there was no room. At the end, men in uniforms handed some bars of soap and a towel.... a shower, a chance to wash the body, oh..... it was received with great joy. We never saw them again. But, there were rumors......" that is an excerpt from a diary and I guess you can guess the year.

What? Trump, not Obama, took away their hope. Obama set them up for a place in the land of the free, Trump set them up for a cage or death. And what Trump has done also reminds me of "the trains were packed, standing room only. If someone fell, they could not get back up, there was no room. At the end, men in uniforms handed some bars of soap and a towel.... a shower, a chance to wash the body, oh..... it was received with great joy. We never saw them again. No, not really.... you see obama gave them a false promise, just as those men in uniform did so many years ago..... Our i*********n l*ws is clear, those entering the country illegally will be detained, fined, and sent back through the border they should have entered. Legal immigration is a step process and you enter through identified border crossings. So, President Trump is only enforcing our laws which have been on the books for a very long time.

That is patently false and you need more research, other than Infowars or the federalist. Separating children from families is the "zero tolerance" policy of Sessions, a Trump appointee. No crime has yet been established as to the illegality of entry; a court needs to hear the case. Proving them guilty without a trial under Trump policy at some checkpoint and then removing their children is just wrong.

If I'm arrested for a crime, and jailed, I will be separated from my family until I have a trial to determine my guilt, or innocence, and I'm a natural born citizen of this country. Why should it be any different with wetbacks?

I got CAM from Jeh Johnson's press release. I do not read Info Wars they are totally anti-semitic. The Federalist, I take what they write and verify if possible with other well known sites... if I can not find a site to verify their information,, I ignore them.
The 1924 act laid the ground work for two things, one limiting immigration and the power to deport anyone entering the USA illegally. The act of entering the USA at any point other than authorized entry point is illegal... I will provide you with the response that Loki gave to Morgan: "I suggest you read 8 US Code 1325. As a matter of fact, 8 US Code has some pretty strong criminal penalties for i******s.

You do not get it. The case for entry into the US needs a hearing; attempting to enter is not a ptima facie crime. There is protected status under certain circumstances.

I have to get sick to my stomach reading to what great lengths the Right will go to excuse the unimaginable damage to these children of immigrants, when they are separated and many of the children sent to what is essentially prison. The rule of law where there is no such law but only Trump policy. I am done with you hard-hearted folk on this. Talk to my hand.

They are not "immigrants." Don't you remember that just a few years ago they were rightfully called "i*****l a***ns?" Then the PC lefty police took over and started calling them "undocumented 'immigrants.'"

The gross lying as an introduction to a discussion: get used to this from the Right. They want you to take it as given fact. As in starting here, where do we go? We do not start where Pennylynn suggests: "They came, they took as much as they could and then they went home." T***h: they came, and was used by many industries with low wages, and went home after they were no longer needed. Perspective, not political spin.

What happened around the Spring of 2000? Political and drug turmoil, both in Mexico and Central America. Families at mortal threat for being law-abiding.
