As vulnerable Democrats uneasily defend their v**es for Obamacare, and prominent White House alumni predict significant changes to it, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is confidently asserting that Democrats are "embracing" the unpopular law. Sundry press reports tell a different story.

Of course it does, it's a conservative publication. If conservatives could learn to compromise instead of whining like three year olds this law could be much better. If some democrats are distancing themselves from the law or seeming to not support it as much this shows they know how to act in a non partisan matter. A reasonable party (political) should then be able to discuss the issues with the person who chooses to act in a non partisan manner. A publication like town hall only serves to make things worse because if it had any neutral or liberal view points it's dedicated readers would turn on it like a pack of hyenas.

Why do the conservatives always have to be the ones to compromise? Why is it you Democrats WILL NOT compromise on anything, and instead jam it down our throats if we want it or not? Personally, I get pissed every time the Republicans compromise on anything! We don't whine, pal...we act. can't wait for those 2014 mid-terms.

That is another whiny response. "Mommy why do I have to take out the trash". Check the record on the healthcare act. There were misleading headlines saying republicans tried like 52 times to repeal the healthcare act. But it wasn't just that all 52 times. The democrats actually signed on to compromises 7 times. When you v**e for someone who runs on " no compromise" you only make things worse. It is a job requirement when you are elected. We ended up with a standoff between the house and senate because of this no compromise crap. These tea party (I know it's just a movement) i***ts got elected by running on no compromise. Hopefully you guys can get someone in who has more sense this time.

Do you remember when Obama asked for a 12 month extension on the payroll tax? The House passed it and the went home. The Senate tehn passed a 3 month extension and claimed that the House was obstructing and being unreasonable for not coming back and passing the 3 month extension.

Even when the House gives in, the Democrats find a way to blame the Republicans. There is no way to compromise with a group that insists on moving the target.

Do you remember when Pres. Clinton caused a shutdown of the govt? He vetoed the budget and asked for a specific increse to Social Security. The House and Senate changed the budget to give it to him and passed. He then vetoed it and asked for a bigger increase. So this moving the goal posts is not that new. Democrats are liar, manipulators, and worse and people still v**e them in to office because Democrats give them other people's money and then call those other people greedy.

This is now. Did compromises take place or not? None of us can have it all our way. The best we can hope for is half. There is so much misinformation out there about the healthcare law a person doesn't know what to think. Death squads ,congress is exempted. With this kind of bullsh#t , and people know it is, everything else that's said by republicans is dismissed even if it's a good idea. The other side is guilty of this also but at least their bullsh#t is closer to reality, but bullsh#t nonetheless. It's like this presentation, presentation, presentation and then compromise, compromise , compromise.

Democratic party definition of compromise is when they get it all their way.

If you show you are willing to compromise others are more likely to work with you.

So far the Republican's willingness to compromise has only led to Democratic bullying, not a willingness to work with Conservatives.

I could say the same thing but change the position of democrat or republican. How about this question, Was the government shutdown last October caused because the democrats would not sign a budget that was designed to sabotage the healthcare act?

but you would be lying.

NO. The Democrats refused to even meet with the Republicans to discuss the budget until after the shutdown began. Every other budget was done with cuts. The Democrats refused to deal with anything but a blanket give me all I want. They caused the shutdown and fi anyone really paid attention, they know that.

What's your source of this information? Did the republicans offer to get rid of the part that would not fund the healthcare law?
